Glenn Beck has lost his mind. For real this time. - Page 2

Okay that settles it. Sideway isn't real. He's a figment of our collective imaginations.
Glen's bringing the crazy hard right now on his show. He's going after meat eaters.

My first experience with Beck was seeing a clip on YouTube where he went on about the "10/11 project"", his plan to make his audience feel like they did the day after 9/11. So that would be, uhm, drunk and bewildered?
Good to see the Glenn Beck followers have found Chud...

Watching Beck right now, and it seems more than once he has come close to hinting at anti-semitism. But maybe I'm afraid of right wingers.

Also, did he just support the death of Obama by quoting John Lennon? Jesus, this guy is getting more and more insane by the moment.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Beck will commit suicide on national television during Sweeps.

Is that the project that wants to remind you how you felt 1 month after 9/11 ?

That first segment was confusing, hilarious, and terrifying at the same time. He played "Revolution" going into break. I don't think the Beatles would approve.

I'm late to the party, but I don't think you did read the whole quote, or you would have seen that it's not really vague at all:

So we are going to send more college graduates to teach and mentor our young people. We'll call on Americans to join an energy corps, to conduct renewable energy and environmental clean-up projects in their neighborhoods all across the country.

We will enlist our veterans to find jobs and support for other vets, and to be there for our military families. And we're going to grow our Foreign Service, open consulates that have been shuttered and double the size of the Peace Corps by 2011 to renew our diplomacy.

Is it too much to ask that you try reading the quote and then think about what you're going to say before you say it. Ask yourself, "is my statement supported by the facts or am I just repeating what other people believe the quote to mean?" Move forward from there. See, it's easy!

This show is amazing!

Does he buy his own ad space on his show for his book???

Yes. This is the exact same breed of numbnut dipshit that absolutely lost their mind when Sonia Sotomayor dared to utter her infamous line about being a wise Latina, etc. etc.. Context is of no importance to them, because then that means they'd have to think about something beyond a base level of buzzwords and leaps of logic that would make Indiana Jones's asshole pucker in terror.
Well fuck you guys. Im not feeling well, work was a waste of my time, and now Im going to go home and watch Glenn Beck for the first time ever because you assholes keep talking about this.

So that audio clip of him screaming on the radio from a few weeks back...is that what his TV show is like? Let me know if it is as I have about 14mg worth of xanax pills at home I would want to be sure Im able to crush and prepare to snort if it really does come to that.
He's dressed as a Nazi on his book cover. This is too good.

What is with his Liberal imitation voice? It sounds like a Muppet raised in Fargo
post #66 of 495
Awesome, sideway. Never leave.

That argument (and I've heard it a few times) pisses me off. He says that people who drive hybrids aren't doing enough because they might still eat meat. Oh, okay, that's much worse than people WHO STILL DRIVE GAS GUZZLERS AND EAT MEAT. I mean, at least they're doing something Beck. Ugh, the frustration makes my heart hurt.

His studio, with all its writing on the walls, looks like some crazy right wing bomb shelter. He's protecting himself from the outside voices trying to destroy him.

I'm sorry to go on but now the screen says "THEY ATTACK GLENN, NOT THE FACTS". No Glenn, they attacked YOU because you called Obama a racist with a deep-seeded hatred of white people. It had nothing to do with facts or ignoring them.

This dude is like the Joe Francis of the political world but with more raping of young, innocent minds.

I'm lost right now. He's talking about drug addicts and alcoholics, wtf?

That uniform looks much more Russian than Nazi. Couple that with the backwards "R" and I'm pretty sure you're reading it wrong.

I'm kind of amazed at how many of you seem to consider yourselves morally and intellectually superior to Beck who are now rushing to watch his show and drive the ratings up. You're right, he must be really dumb.

Yeah, I'll happily whine and moan about Beck all day long but I wouldn't watch this fuck's show if it was the last bit of entertainment on the planet.

This isn't a defense of watching this fuckstain, but I'm not sure you understand how TV ratings work.

Actually, I very much do. I do appreciate that a bunch of you can discuss this, get up in arms about it and then decide that since you're not a Nielsen (or whatever organization) family that you can watch whatever without it having a greater meaning though.

That dumb Glenn Beck.

Please then, explain to us the greater meaning it has.
Oh I get it, so if you want to be informed about something you should make sure you get your information via the most indirect means possible right?
The defining characteristic of the modern rightie is a sociopathic level of narcissism, which allows them to play both bully and victim in the same sentence. And so Glenn Beck is a victim whilst decrying his "enemies" as socialist nazis. Glenn Beck gives voice to the stupid, and anyone who believes or supports him is an idiot.

Don't you get it? You're driving up the ratings via OSMOSIS!
Leaving the ratings aside, I just don't understand why anybody who knows that the guy is a screaming idiot (meaning anyone with a functional brain) would want to tune in and watch him scream like an idiot.

Of course, a lot of people around here intentionally paid ten bucks to see Transformers 2, so I shouldn't be terribly shocked.
Beck didn't go deep enough in his research. The letters actually spell out:

DRINK YOUR OVALTINE

Bet that damn Obama swapped out his secret decoder ring!
'I'm tired of being a sheep...tune in tomorrow and I'll tell you EXACTLY what to do and EXACTLY where to go' is damn near Durdenesque. Bravo, Mr. Beck.

And what's the deal with him wearing Chucks with his suit? Did Frank Miller create him, or does he think he's Doctor Who?

I just thought it bore mentioning, seeing as how it means the exact opposite of what the guy was saying.

Well, there was the trucker army. And if Convoy's taught us anything it's-

Fuck it I'm not even gonna pretend. I never saw Convoy.

And just so I'm actually on topic, I'll chime in that Beck is just like the real-life version of the blond buzzcut roaring weeping bellowing Brando-parodying super-ham Rod Steiger plays in The Big Knife.

For the same reason why I watched Farrakhan's delusional, rambling speech at the Million Man March

For the epic lulz.

Beck's downward spiral has been going on for months now, but the "OLIGARHY" clip ties with Farrakhan's speculation about the vandalism of the Sphinx for sheer hilarity.

I'll give the little wad of goo this: he tries to exploit 9/11 with the best of them, but at least (to my knowledge) he's never gloated over the deaths of his fellow Americans the way Robertson and Falwell did the morning after the attack. Beck even had enough residual humanity, or at least enough reptilian self-interest, to plead with his viewers to refrain from violence after that one asshole dropped a gun on the floor at Representative Giffords' town hall meeting in Arizona.

Still, fuck him. Fuck this guy.

I never cheered for terrorism or encouraged people to murder their neighbors either. No one's giving me a fucking trophy for it.

His reported salary helps me whenever I watch clips of him, because he seems scripted from various fictional inspirations, as stated. A five-year, $50 million dollar contract for his radio show, and an estimated 18 million this year from various business ventures.

The tragedy is that a lot of people really are hurting, really have been screwed, but this tool betrays his viewers in the worst possible way on behalf of the same people that are oppressing them. Whether he's crazy or "crazy like a fox," he's definitely turning their justifiable pain, confusion and anger into a weapon to block the cavalry from coming in and beating back their oppressors. It's complete sickness.

Sean Hannity is crazy like a fox (watch his show, he's un-fucking-believable at twisting people's words around and taking any line of thought and twisting it into the distorted alternate universe that exists only in the minds of FOX News and its viewers). Glenn Beck definitely trends more toward the just plain crazy.

You guys do realize that both of Glenn Beck's parents committed suicide? Mental illness runs in the family.
I've certainly never watched his show, because I get outraged just seeing clips of him on The Daily Show.

As much as we'd all love him to get fired, or shamed and humiliated in public, or thrown in the Stocks in Times Square so people can hurl crabapples and batteries at him, the unfortunate truth is that the second he's gone, he'll be replaced by some other hateful shitheel pushing the conservative agenda on the gullible. Ann Coulter, maybe. This particular problem isn't one douchebag, it's a part of the system.
