Blu-rays recorded in 60 vs 24fps

So I have been watching Blu-rays for over a year now and as all of you know it's great but it is only recently that I even noticed the whole 24fps thing. So from what I understand there are quite a few older tvs that can't even do it but mine can. Now most of the BDs I own are in 24fps however I have noticed some of the older ones I bought are in 60fps, why is that? Does it bother anyone else? I don't know maybe im just annoyed....

I've heard of TVs moving to 48p, but not 60p.

Looking at this more, I think you're talking about 3:2 pulldown or 60i. Which creates artifacts in fast motion and isn't as smooth as 24p.

It's a total snakeoil business. The movie is shot at 24fps; anything else is bullshit. Looks like shit and makes action hard to focus.

That's certainly true. Just saw an advertisement of a TV that promoted a "hyper realistic" picture.

Also, don't get me started on the whole dynamic contrast ratio bullshit.

Yeah, all pretty much horseshit, the main difference is whether it encoded with Mpeg4 or VC-1. And regarding TVs, thats why I am still getting a front projection CRT when I seriously start my HT, no locked pixels, a scan rate that makes even the most expensive plasmas look cheap, and deep and true proper blacks, those who think I am nuts head over to the home theater forum and see what Dark Knight looks like coming from a 9inch CRT.

Ummm yeah im thinking I explained this wrong. When I put Blu-rays in most of the time the tv says 24hz but with some older Blu-rays like Evil Dead 2 or LA Confidential it says 60 hz. I don't see a HUGE difference but still it's there and I don't see mony complaing about it.
