Lots of interesting films on the schedule, but that restoration of Rashomon has my attention.

Hold off on that, the UWM Union is showing it for free later this year good sir.

Understandable. On a sidenote, why on Earth is one of the two theaters being used for this festival not located in the titular city?

I'm not sure that there were a lot of options in Milwaukee proper. The Times and Downer are small. Northtown is rundown. What does that leave? South Shore? Frankly the commute between North Shore and the Oriental is probably shorter. Hate to say it, but I bet the majority of the audience is on the east side and towards Mequon.

Fair enough. I also think that there is some theater blacklisting happening on behalf of the former Milwaukee International film festival which kind of got the shaft. Anyway, I got tickets for Big Fan, Humpday, Bronson, The Chaser, House of the Devil, Amarcord, $9.99 and the Midnight short films. Anybody else planning on going to any screenings?

Got to see House of the Devil last night. I'll move heaven and hell to see Rashomon. We'll see what else my schedule allows.

The Chaser takes the structure of The Host surrounding a story more patterned on Memories of Murder. It's a total fucking gut punch.
