Bit of a different question...

Male yeast infections. Now I recently broke up with my gf of the past few months, and she was constantly having minor yeast infections after sex. Now I've heard that certain lubes or condoms, or even soap can cause yeast infections, but I want to make sure I don't have one.

I feel completely fine in the bathing suit area, but I've heard that men can have a yeast infection and not even know, which can apparently lead to prostate cancer etc. down the line if I don't get it cleaned up. Have any guys here had experience with a male yeast infection? Is it normal for some ladies to get them often?

A bit of an embarrassing issue, but I'm hoping some more experienced people can enlighten me here without too much snark.

Did you perform oral sex on her regularly? If you didn't go down on her would she not have an infection later?

You could have a yeast overgrowth that was transferred to her and then reinforced through intercourse. I had to cut back on sugar in my diet and occasionally use Listerine prior to oral sex with an ex of mine.

Also her cleanliness could have been a factor that was exacerbated by intercourse.

I have no practical advice, but I do have an amusing (if somewhat gross) anecdote. A friend told me once that he had recently had a tooth extracted, & went down on his girl. She apparently ws just getting over a yeast infection, unbeknownst to him. This was on Friday. He spent most of Sunday sitting by his toilet, pulling out & discarding white stuff that felt like wet toilet paper from his empty tooth socket. He went to see his dentist 1st thing Monday morning, to see what the hell this was. He was a little perturbed w/ her for concealing the yeasty beasties from him after being informed by the dentist the infection had transferred, to say the least.
