Rodrigo Y Gabriela 11:11

I bought this today, it's absolutely amazing. Rodrigo and Gabriela have really increased their compositional skills with this one, each song is dedicated to an artist who inspired them. The standouts so far are Logos and the title track which are both intimate pieces. I think Rod actually uses a wah-wah on his acoustic at one point which is incredibly fucking cool, he did that when I saw them live a couple of years ago, nice to see he incorporated it.

Has anyone heard this? If not, you should.

When the fuck did this come out, my roommate and I have seen them 3 times they're awesome... I loved rolling stones first review of their album calling it elevator music..

I had no idea it was out either until a few days ago. My crush on Gabriela remains strong, she can play the fuck out of that guitar and she's hot.

Dang, this was on sale cheapish the week it came out (2-3 weeks ago?), and I forgot to snag it! Love these two, and yes, HOTTT.

I also got a bonus DVD with the CD, which has a live rehearsal and couple of guitar tutorials, just awesome stuff. I could listen to Gabriela talk all day, she just sounds adorable.

Dragon Ma, our musical tastes continue to click. I don't believe I'd heard them before this thread, but I've now sampled them for the past hour on YouTube, etc.

P.S. You guys are right. Gabriela is a hot little thing. And with that talent too? Oh yeah. I might fall in love.

Edit - This is frickin' great: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Girf18Xaq2Y

I had no idea they even had another album coming, let alone released. I love everything these two have put out.

You should check out their live album 'Live in Dublin and Manchester', they did release another live album last year but I need to check that out. They do a live version of 'One' and do a little jam on Take Five, fucking great.

I don't mean to come across as a troll or anything but I've found nearly all of their songs completely boring. Either long repetitive guitar tapping or long acoustic guitar wankery. That guitar solo linked to is technically impressive but I don't see anything more than that. What am I missing?

Try out that live version of "One" (that's Metallica's, not U2's). It's pretty goddamn nifty.

I don't know what to tell you, for me it's the way Rod and Gab play off each other, Gabriella has an interesting rhythmic style, metal/flamenco and it plays well with Rod's solo's. If you find that kind of boring, I'm not sure if any of us can convince you.

I checked out their cover songs and it felt more like novelty songs than anything.
Dragon Ma, you're probably right, it's not for me. I just didn't want to write them off too hastily.

Nice. Buying it now.

Also, Red Fang and Brendan Benson's new album are part of this.
Both are great.
