Krakauer's WHERE MEN WIN GLORY

If anyone picks this up, could you let me know how it is? I was excited to read it but the reviews have been mixed so I'd like to hear what other folks have to say.

Definitely going to pick this up -- I'm not a giant fan of Krakauer's work about nature and the wilderness (though I loved Into The Wild the film), but Under The Banner of Heaven is one of those books that actually taught me something about life and is on a short list of the best true crime books ever written. The subject matter, especially how it ties into his other books, is interesting enough that I'll check it out. The portrayal of Tillman should be fascinating, in that Krakauer has compared him to Chris McCanless. I'll let you know how it is.

It's strange because one reviewer said that the first two-thirds about his life are dull and doesn't heat up till the end another said that it was the stuff about his pre-military life and character that was better than the military and government cover-up parts.

Into The Wild is by far one of my favorite books. Definitely will pick this up.

Does not compute.

I liked the film better than the book. Does that compute?
