What. The. Fuck? Haha. Robert dancing with Ryan.

They'll never be Jim and Pam, but Ellie Kemper is actually starting to make the will-they-won't-they stuff work.  Having her step into the role of female lead has been much more effective than Andy taking over the top spot, but of course expectations and scrutiny levels were much lower in her case.

The show still isn't that good, but as long as it has 30 Rock/Parks and Rec as lead ins, I'll probably keep watching.

If nobody else is gonna say it? Kate Flannery was rocking that swimsuit. Out of character for Meredith to not wear something hideously inappropriate (if anything at all) though.

Erin may be nice to look at but she is clearly nuts. They haven't given us any reason to hate Jessica. In fact, she seems pretty alright. I imagine they will probably end up having her dump Andy though. Oh, and the obvious possible cheating angle with Pam's replacement needs to be killed asap.

Ignoring the bullshit end tag, I liked this one. Rainn Wilson was on fucking fire. The arctic wolf talking head killed me.

Aaand I just realized that the show is recycling Jim's Season 3 plot with Erin. But who will be her Rashida Jones?

Great episdoe for Dwight tonight. I'm sucked back into the show.

That episode worked for me more than any other so far this season. The open was awesome, Dwight was Dwight and Jim's reverance of Stanley was great. Stanley's line about not being bored, I'm a pirate was classic.

Yeah, the past two episodes have actually been pretty good. I kind of wish Catherine Tate (who before I was very meh about) would have been the new manager. Dwight's wake-up calls and Jim's prank were the highlights. The appendix stuff was good, but went a little too far for my tastes. Maybe its because I actually want Dwight to do well, or at least fail on his on merits, but it made me a little too tense.

That was a damn good episode. Easily my favorite of the past 2-3 seasons...not even joking. Sad.

Poor Ryan. If only I could wake up with Erin.

About the only bright spot was Florida Stanley.  "Did you just get back from burning down a rival nightclub?"

Horrible ratings last night. As a fan I still hope this is the last. Oh and Erin doing jumping jacks with extra support is a damn shame.

So The Office brought back two annoying characters that I thought I'd never see again.

Man, the writers are going out of their way to make me a fan of Person of Interest, aren't they?

Last night was actually pretty great. I do hope they follow-up on those new stories and not... ignore them? Fingers crossed.

Poor married Jim.

Dwight looking for bed bugs = comedy gold. I was glad Dwight decided not to sleep his way to the top, or at least to be VP. Dwight may be a weirdo, but he does have integrity.

That was one of the best Office eps in at least a couple years. It was directed by Kevin to boot.

Yup, he got his cake & pie money. Now he journeys forth on his mission to achieve complete Brando girth-ification.

Spader was never funny this season. He never showed that weird intensity that he had in last season's finale.

I'm actually really enjoying the past few episodes with the cast split up like this.  It's actually fun again.

I'M SHOCKED.

That's because he was self-contained within no more than five minutes of the episode; you had no idea who he was, what he did and why he was there.

Now, you have the chance to realize that he's neither weird nor eccentric.  He's just an uninteresting asshole who seems to be shoe-horned into every episode that he appears in.  He's like the aging yuppie version of Poochie.

It's like Walken discusssing Butch's watch. Out of left field and awesome, but would you watch a whole movie about that guy?

Agreed. The show has actually been...fun. The scene where the boyfriend confronts Darryl killed me.

I have a theory that the new girl who's been trying to seduce Jim is actually the younger sister or cousin of Pam's ex, Roy.

That would be great.  They should just embrace the shit out silly storylines.

I must be the only one that actually likes Spader's bizarre role.  He is a pretty big name doing almost nothing.  It's like they are intentionally wasting him and it works for me.  I love that Michael was completely transparent and we know almost nothing about Robert California.  Occasionally, his idiosyncratic quirks come to surface and make me squirm.  I would find it hilarious if this creep just bounces from CEO to CEO job cheating on his wife with women (and men?), owning multiple homes, etc. and that is about all we ever learn about him.

Granted, it would have been interesting to see them develop the character we saw in the finale last year, but I ultimately I like that they didn't.  The show is too old and too stale to really get anyone to care anymore.  No matter how hard they could push Robert, he won't replace Michael.  Michael was the heart of the show for America.  I just find it hysterical that Spader is a one and done - and barely at that. heh.

You're not. He's been aces. Though, his appearances have fallen a little short of that immaculate debut (but not by much). is role this season seems to have been that of 'post-Michael palette cleanser'. Whatever the case, the show has found it's feet in the past few eps & hopefully they'll be able to keep it up.

Another top notch episode. It looks like Dwight's spin off with be him as a VP in Florida. I think that has more potential than more seasons of The Office. The Office's story has been told. Jim and Pam finally got together and Michael married the girl of his dreams. Andy and April don't hold the same interest for me.

My favorite bits where Creed's hit, scream and run, and Pam telling off the fifth grader.

Agree about the spin off part; the scenes back in Scranton have been largely forgettable while Dwight's battle with Packer has given the series new life.

And I hope you meant Andy and Erin.

Andy and April are from Parks and Rec.

They are awesome.

Shocked that I'm actually enjoying this show again as much as I am. If you'd gone back a year in time and told me this, I'd have punched you in the face. I'm even finding my usual overwhelming,"Trixie-virus"-level homicidal urges toward Catherine Tate to be somewhat...lessened, here.

Pam's comeback line to that snotty little girl was total burnage-gold.

Pam vs the 5th grader was awesome, but the highlight was Packer's talking head "...I swoop in like a sexual predator."

Still think the show should just call it a day, but there was more fun here than most of the post-Michael era.

Yes I meant Erin. I'll blame my typo on writing that late.

Erin in those glasses was ... just ... yeah, I need some alone time.

The whole Erin Hipster thing was definitely working for me.

Love how Jim has become the doofus lately.

Dunno what you guys see in this anymore. Just dreadful stuff. Week after week. Ech.

What on earth did they do to Catherine Tate? The makeup and hair they've given her character between seasons makes her look like a ghoulish crocodile monster. Someone needs firing for that.

280 I think Tate looks like this.

And what was up with the horrific blue screen effect with Erin in Florida? uhh. Wow.

I was wondering about that too. Must've been some late reshoot to clarify something?

Anyway... is anyone else having issues with the rich text editor? I'm being told it's not compatible with my browser (Firefox), but I don't think I changed anything. It's never been a problem before.

If a television show could gain sentience and write a suicide note, it would look an awful lot like the cold open with the balloon.

The pallet lifter should have failed to pop the balloon. They could have ended the show right there.

How long is Tate going to be in it for because she seriously bugs the shit out of me.

Yeah, I just caught with this season's back half, and I think they brought Catherine Tate to drive a stake through the heart of this thing. Knowing that even Helms is leaving now, I'm pretty sure they're daring me to stop watching, and if Tate returns next season, they win. I'll be out for good.

Ed Helms is leaving?  I thought he was working out a deal for a 9th?  I know recent news indicated he would be on Kaling's show, but I thought that was just a guest spot?

That not definitive, I guess, and I suppose it is just a pilot. But damn, look at all those people whose contracts are up. They've all got as much career momentum as they're going to get from this show. I like Craig Robinson, but if the next season is just him, Catherine Tate, and Kevin, who would dare watch? This show looks like it's going to end in the next month.

Thank Christ.

This show needed to end 3-4 seasons ago.

Liked the opening, that's about it.  The Andy/Erin stuff wasn't great, but it wasn't actively horrible like the other plot. At this point, I'd be happy for them if they never returned.

The local syndicated episodes have gotten back around to season two. What a different show that was. Its kind of sad to see them so miserable with their jobs and loathing their boss and knowing that's where they'll all be 6 years later. Sure, they don't seem miserable now, but it's not because their situation improved, they've just settled. Dwight seems to be the only character with any motivation to move beyond his current position, and that's only so we can watch him fail.

This season has reminded me of the last week of the year when I was in elementary school. The students and teachers are all there, but everyone is just running down the clock till its all over. No effort, just showing up. It's the Lethal Weapon 4 of TV shows.

I watch this now like some people are watching The Killing, just to see the trainwreck in action.
