The Chud Poem Zone

Couldn't resist. I write poetry (non rhyming) but think of rhymes for fun. Noticed the forum did not have a place for people post their poetry or rhymes, so figured I'd add this thread.

I have been trying to make a poem or song about Slumdog Millionaire ever since it came out. Rhyming hindi words is very difficult it turns out.

I've come up with one genius rhyme but am unable to progress from there. I will therefore tell you guys my rhyme so it will be public domain, and you can use it in your own slumdog poetry if you want. Just be sure to post it here so I can see that my rhyme went to good use

Million Dolla (dollar) -- Chai Walla (that is what Jamal did before went on the gameshow)

That should be a perfect seed from which a wonderful poem will no doubt grow

Here is a poem I wrote to help me get through a bad breakup I had a few years back:

BREAKUP CITY
by Paul McCartney

Girl you and I
Are breaking up
Like the Space Shuttle Columbia

The End.

Haha, nice. That break up happened the year I was born

EDIT: Nevermind, was confused. Actually the Columbia died many years after my birth.

I assume you meant the Challenger, PK, or else you are six and a half years old.

EDIT: Ratty has faster fingers than me!
I was born a week after that disaster!
Must now go and dig out my poems that I had published in books back in the day...

No, I'm like Eric Stoltz in the Fly 2 in that I age at a rapid pace ( and vomit acid).

Kidding.

Yes, that was an error in memory on my part. Sorry about that.

We're Challenger babies! I was born a few months later I think. Happened in may, right?

I'm another 1986'er. It's especially memorable to me because of a music show I saw once that featured noteworthy news events alongside popular videos from particular years. It was January 28th, by the way.

Yeah, I graduated from high school in 1986. Fuck all you little runts.

Hence the desire to share your poetry.

With that in mind:

Well thanks for making an effort I guess I feel a little like I'd imagine it might feel to be the parent of a special needs child, you're proud no matter what. Good to see my rhyme used, even if the poem it's used in is a little 'special'.

Was (maybe still am) considering putting up some of my more serious poems but thinking maybe I should stick to DeviantArt where there is going to be less snark about the idea of writing poetry.
That's probably a good idea. I don't want your feelings to get hurt.

Me either.

On that note though, if anyone else wants to share poetry I can promise I won't be rude. I'd still like to see the Poem Zone become a home for all kinds of poetry

Hey, at least it rhymes.

I write poetry both non rhyming (that I put alot of effort into) and rhyming (that I do to amuse myself as I'm in the shower or to kill time, come up with little rhyming phrases. That was the origin of how I discovered "million dolla chai walla")

Am I really the only Chewer who enjoys poeming? Or are all the other poemsters as mortified about posting their work as I am?

Hey everyone...

Just noticed that the CHUD POEM ZONE has sat unused since Halloween Night (spoooky! Is it perhaps a'cursed?)

I've kind of been in the mood to share some of my poetry lately, so if anyone wants to start posting theirs first it would help make me feel less shy about posting mine

That's all, thanks.

For no reason....

Ok that's really hilarious actually KS, good job!

Technically the kids did get some stuff, but yeah, they're still in Mumbai and Boyle is in some giant English mansion

EDIT: I composed a rhyming poem in my head when I saw MOON, but I've forgotten most of it. It was great though

"
And when you go from the earth to the moon,
Will you spend time your packing, or blast off real soon?"
That was one of the lines, it continued on like that for a while. I'll try to remember more

Oh! Remembered more!!

"And when you return from the moon to the earth,
Will you touch down in moscow? Detroit? Perhaps Perth?"

It was a great poem but I poemed it when I was kind of zoning out and now my short term memory killed the rest
