Survivor: Samoa - Page 2

Finally, people are playing the game. I loved all the strategizing. And Eric should have known that as soon as you think you are safe, you aren't. Even Russell knows this. Speaking of which, I hope he survives next week. He's still the only interesting person.
Finally a decent episode! Erik cut his own throat with his gloating at Tribal. Anyone still on the fence at that point probably couldn't wait to oust him.
Maybe I wasn't paying close enough attention, but what on earth made Russell think he needed to play his hidden idol?
Paranoia maybe? I was wondering that too.
I just didn't see anything on the show that made it look like sentiment was rising against him, especially when the council was so focused on Jason and Eric.

What? They showed a whole bit with Erik strategizing with plaid-shirt guy (still don't know anyone's names) where he explicitly said that they would let the Foa Foa people know they were voting Russell, but they'd really vote Jaison. And they also showed Russell talking with Natalie where she emphatically said she had swayed the other tribe to vote Laura, and Russell told her she had false confidence. While they didn't show him being nervous after the Immunity Challenge, it seemed to me that if he didn't believe Natalie when they had a pretty sure bet that Shambo and the boys would vote Laura, he certainly wouldn't be confident that they could get all the girls and two of the Galu boys to flip on Erik. He hoped, but he didn't have faith. Finally, as he said, everyone knows he had the idol. In every season except the one where the Asian guy won, once that happens people try and flush it out immediately.
That was a great TC bitch slap. Everyone had to like that.
Nice episode tonight. I can't help but to still love this show despite it's many critics. Tonight's tribal counsel was compelling. Of course if Russell gets voted out next week, the rest of the season could go downhill quickly.

I feel like the camera crew had to tip off Russell to the immunity idol. Finding it twice without any clues?! Either he's the luckiest son of a bitch or he's that good. None-the-less, amazing TV. The look on everyone's faces was priceless. Monica should have stuck to her guns and insisted they split the votes. They still had the numbers.
I'm not saying that the producers of a reality show would never influence the outcome, but I don't think it was that far fetched that Russell could have found it on his own. He stated it pretty clearly that it should be near a landmark of some kind and that deduction isn't that hard to come up with. And I don't think they had the number had they tried to split the vote did they? Even if Shambo stuck with them, they had 7 votes, so if they voted 4 for Russell and 3 for Natalie or somebody else, the 4 for Russell wouldn't have counted and the 3 wouldn't have been enough to counter the Foa Foa's 4 votes. Maybe I'm wrong, it wouldn't be the first time.

The tree he found the first idol in wasn't a landmark. It's not impossible, but pretty unlikely to find two idols without a clue. And there are tons of stories of Survivor in particular rigging the show so their favorites stay. But if anyone can do it, Russell can. He's that conniving (from what we've seen). The show is certainly giving him a winner's edit. And as a viewer, he is the most entertaining to watch.

Edit: EW has a list of the 30 "hottest" castaways I knew Colleen (still so damn cute), Ethan, James, and Stephanie had to be on there. How did I forget about Marcus? Cause I certainly remember seeing his penis.
Well, Russell just scorch-earthed subsequent immunity idols' hiding places from here on out. No way they hide the idol around camp next season. Guess they'll have to bring back Exile Island.

Kelly left the same episode where I finally learned her name.
I like that Russell's initial strategy seemed to be a huge villain and he's ended up being pretty much the hero. Good edit there.
That episode saved the season as far as I'm concerned. By slowly turning Russell into the hero and firmly casting Laura as the villain -- "He just opened up all kinds of hell" -- there's finally a dynamic on the show.

No fucking way! Russell is a machine!
This season started a little dull, but holy shit, I've absolutely loved these last episodes. I never cared for Eric, but his reactions while sitting on the jury have been extremely amusing.
All I have to say is I can not stand Shambo. Between her ugly haircut, her macho talk, and her immature behavior (tonight's episode when Laura did not win immunity), I really hope she gets booted soon. But considering she sucks at challenges and is easy to control, she'll probably make it to the final two.

Why wouldn't you take Shambo to Final 3? No one would vote to give her the mil.
Fua-Fua still likes her. But you're right about her not getting the million, especially as the first three members of the Jury are now from Galu. Still, I personally despise her personality and behavior.

Yeah, I certainly wouldn't want her around. She's annoying as fuck. But Colby (Season 2 runner-up) learned the hard way about choosing someone likable to spend his final days with vs. someone everyone hated.
Good ole dumb Colby, probably the 2nd dumbest move ever, but not sure anybody will ever be able to top ice cream scooper boy giving up the immunity necklace. His run of shame after getting voted out is a personal favorite.

That definitely goes down as the dumbest Survivor move ever. What a moron.
I gave up on that season and I regret it just for that moment.

Russell is kind of amazingly good at this. I love that the previews indicate he goes back to being a rascally dick, releasing chickens and what have yous.
Oh, Natalie's got this. Though for once she was in danger, but then again, it could be argued her earlier play had a role in that, as she was the only "dumb girl" as Russell put it, that pretended to trust him, not only keeping her in, but leading to Russell actually sort of trusting her.
Also, Galu is being devastated in part because their reasons for voting together are not as strong as Foa Foa's. Foa Foa's got a survival pact, essentially, live together or get voted off alone. Galu has GALU PRIDE, which turns out to have meant jack shit to anyone except Erik.
It's kind of hilarious in a subtle way how Brett just laid on the hammock through all those strategy sessions, chillin'. He's probably like...duuuude, whatever. And he didn't care enough to withold the plan from John, when doing so would have made soooooo much sense. Maybe his strategy is making himself such a nonentity than nobody votes for him. It's working!

I don't think Keith was anywhere near as hated as they wanted to play up.

I'd have to agree. He got a TV show out of that. But Colby would have still smoked him.

He wasn't hated, but people found him annoying. After 40+ days in the rough, spending another 3 with someone who irritates you feels like forever.

Honestly, I'm not even so certain of that.

Agreed that Natalie is starting to look like a Final Two at least.

How about that long, sinister cackle from Shambo when Laura missed out on immunity?

They did the post show "Would your vote have been different" and everybody said yes. Colby would have been a million dollars richer. There's no doubt about it.

I remember them saying something similar about voting for Lil instead of Johnny Fairplay on Pearl Islands at the Reunion Show. A number of em turned around and said, "Fuck no! I wouldn't have voted for Lil!" later on.

Not trying to be "Uh-uh!" about it. But these juries really talk outta their asses.

Or he saw Laura as an eventual threat and by casually mentioning the plan to John, he thwarts Laura's plan while making John into the bad guy.
Dammit. I really want Shambo to be kicked out. I cannot believe she decided to get Dave booted because he politely questioned how she was cooking a chicken.

And good god is she crazy. I love that she was able to maintain a meaningful talking relationship with the chickens. I wonder if she's related to Princess Kate?
Next week ought to be interesting to see how insane Shamwow responds to having her godly dream vote vetoed. My guess is that Russell will be able to play her like a violin just like he's been doing to everybody so far. I think everybody is going to want to drag her dumb ass along as far as they can because she has a 0.0% chance of winning.
I am concerned that Russell is too fucking awesome for his own good at this point. They're gonna get him. Maybe not next week, but probably the week after. Then my interest will wane.

In the mean time though, he's one of the greatest schemers they've ever had on the show.
It's been a long time since we've had someone as legitmately deranged as Shambo on this show. Wow. She's the perfect Final 2 punching bag, so there is no getting rid of her now.

Has the jury ever been this chatty before? They used to be much stricter about comments from the jury.
Natalie just keeps looking hotter. Wow. Ummmm...
also, John is kind of a dumbass.
I agree, normally the contestants look more and more horrible each week, but Natalie just gets hotter.

The previews they show have nothing to do with the episode the following week, anyone else catching that?

What the hell was with the Shambo dream sequence? that was frightening!

I think Russell made a mistake. They should have voted off one of the other dudes. He had an ally and someone else that the other team hated. Russell has to beleive that they all KNOW he has the immunity idol, so that was a dumb reason to get rid of him.

I don't know about that. Galu has to be thinking, "What are the odds that Russell found the hidden immunity idol with no clue for the third time?" I guess it comes down to trust and John proved himself untrustworthy. Russell was thinking that if John told the rest of Galu, they would for sure try and flush out the idol. At this stage in the game, Russell needs to take the heat off of himself so he can save the immunity idol for when he really needs it. The time was right, with John flipping on Laura and not sharing pie, for Russell to sway Galu. The thing with Shambo is that she makes her intentions known. So even if she gets pissed at Foa Foa as a tribe, its unclear who specifically she will blame. Russell has enough of a connection with her that he could convince her it was Mick or Jaison. Russell has a good gig going until - as the preview shows - Mick or Jaison turn on him.

Great interview with John regarding alliances and strategy.

So here's the super big RUMORED list for next season's Survivor: Heroes or Villains (the one they wouldn't let Hatch participate in, the fuckers).

Heroes:
Amanda, Cirie, Colby, Danielle, James, JT, Rupert, Sugar, Fireman Tom, Stephanie

Villains: Candace, COACH, Courtney, Jerri, Parvati, Randy, Boston Rob, Russell, Sandra Tyson

So that'd be something. Like something amazing!

I'm spacing on some of the names, but the names I recognize are kick ass! The Heroes are a particularly sweet crew. I don't think I can take another season with Boston Rawb. I'm so sick of him. Jenna M. should have been a villian. To this day, I still hate the bitch. I remember Probst just being outwardly mean to her at challenges and tribal. I'm sure she's matured since then, but I can hold grudges a long time.

Sandra, is she the one that would hide in the bushes and spy on people's conversation. I think she also dumped out a bucket of fish the other tribe had caught. Or am I thinking of someone else?
Yeah, I'm spacing on six or so of them, but the others are great. I'll take Boston Rob in exchange for Randy, Tom, and fucking Coach.
Sugar, Amanda, Candace and Parvarti all meet my eye candy requirement, so bring it.

Russell vs Boston Rob could be epic, like a live-action Spy vs Spy.
Most of those names aren't familiar, since I've only watched in full All-Stars, Tocantins, and Samoa, but I am overjoyed to see Coach is returning. Jesus, Coach is going to HATE Russell.

Edit: SPOILERS WITHIN LINK. DON'T SCROLL PAST FIRST SET OF PICTURES IF YOU WANT TO REMAIN SPOILER FREE!

Here's a link with all the Heroes and Villiains, with photos.

And that is the Sandra I was thinking of. She is awesome.

Are we sure those "results" are accurate?
If you want spoilers, go to True Dork Times. They've had info up forever on next season and no, it's not the same as that link. That whole site is full of spoilers though - i.e. they have the entire boot-list in order from top to bottom in the Survivometer section.

No. But I also don't know what they say. As soon as I saw possible spoilers, I closed the link.
