It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: Season 5 - Page 2

creepy uncle jack had me dying.

If it wasn't for the "We are crab people now" this episode would have been devoid of laughs after Frank's suicide attempt. If they were trying to be funny and clever with the sponsor name dropping they fucking failed. What a fucking terrible episode.

I don't think it was the best of the season but it had plenty of great moments. Charlie trying to defend his job ("I run a green bar, by burning the trash so we get a nice smoky smell and then it goes into the sky and turns into stars"), Mac and Dennis discussing Dave and Buster Bucks and shanty towns, Uncle Jack, Frank and Dee's botched sales visit, and of course the not so subtle criticism of our country's Bailout Plan (Dennis: I don't understand how the US economy works, let alone a self-sustaining one) followed by Frank celebrating getting bailed out by the government (USA! USA!). I laughed throughout.
All of the product placement (Coors, Dave & Busters) turned me off a little bit.

However, the thought of the executives of those two companies watching the episode and seeing Charlie's child molesting uncle more than made up for it.
crazy talk. easily the best episode of the season. the economic issues lampooning was great. reminded me of all the iraq stuff from AD season 2.

The "Road Trip" ep had more laughs, but this ep is pretty great, for sure.
It's been a somewhat lackluster season so far, but this episode did have one of the funniest exchanges ever.

CHARLIE: Oh I'm sorry! I could put the trash into a landfill where it's going to stay for millions of years, or I could burn it up and get a nice smokey smell in here and let that smoke go into the sky where it turns into stars!
MAC: That doesn't sound right, but I don't know enough about stars to dispute it...

That was greatness. I'd like to think that Charlie honestly believes that that's how stars work.

Oh, he definitely believes it. Don't forget that Charlie's the guy who believes you can slice off a camel's hump and drink the sweet, sweet milk from inside of it.

Goddamn, Frank gargling the beer.
Frank already pretty much lives off the deep end, so him "going off the deep end" in this episode was... astounding. Gargling the beer was the biggest laugh of the night for me.

Also loved the discussion of Nightcrawlers (it's exactly what it sounds like) and Gail the Snail promptly spitting when told to make up her mind about the loogies she kept hocking.
Frank entering the bar gun pointed shouting "WHERE'S THE FIRE AT?!", as well as Charlie salting the snail are the best things I've seen all week.
Holy shit that was amazing. Mary Lynn Rajskub was great, hope Gail the Snail comes back.

One of the funniest moments in the series. I was down on this season before tonight. But wow.

I say unto you all: from this day forth, wheresoever I shall see a person I do not like or a person doing some act I do not like, I shall point at them and verily shall I repeatedly yell, "Intervention! Intervention!"

Yeah, I kinda loved this episode, regardless of all the wine-stained lips and teeth.

I bet her and Rickety Cricket get together.

"Intervention! Intervention! Intervention!"

Gotta love the gang being drunk on cans of wine.

Or throw salt at them. This episode just packed with helpful ideas.
The cans of wine and Charlies refusal to admit his illiteracy were top notch.
Mac: Did you bang Gail The Snail?
Frank: No we just drank a shit-load of those Monster energy drinks and dry-humped all night. It was awful. I think she gave me poison ivy.

Charlie salting the Snail was fantastic and his flummoxed look and speech afterwards were aces.

Charlie - "Oh my god that was a terrible experience for me by the way."
Dennis - "Of course it was nobody likes salting the Snail, but she gives you no choice."

INTERVENTION!!! INTERVENTION!!!

Absolutely amazing episode. I can't even pick a favorite moment. Frank gargling beer, Gail the Snail, Mac's slow walk out of the cemetery coyly looking back over his shoulder at Dennis & Dee's aunt, Dennis' disgust at the Night Crawlers game, the whole intervention scene... best episode yet!

I must say, the product placement is starting to get to me a little, but I loved how they worked it into this episode so it wasn't as bad as in previous eps.
Best episode of the season, and wow, not even close. Just heads and shoulders above the rest of the season so far.

"Block the wind, I'm gonna roast this bone."
Easily the best of the season, and probably one of my all time favorites.

Almost everything was perfect and fucking hysterical. Too many things to mention.

"I don't know how many years on this Earth I got left. I'm gonna get weird with it....block the wind I'm gonna roast this bone."

I rewound the DVR several times and completely lost it every time Charlie said, "How come we don't play night crawlers anymore?!"
Frank bursting through the door, pistol in hand, responding to a report of a fire at Paddy's absolutely killed me.
The look on Frank's face when he turned to Mac and said "Ho oh ho ho ho, where'd, where'd-ya-come-from?" was just brilliant acting on DeVito's part. Dear God, was he out of it.
God help me, but I have the overwhelming urge to drink Franzia out of a Diet Coke can. Curse you product placement!!!!

Was I the only one who thought Frank would succeed in nailing the widow?
Milksteak and Jellybeans.
Yeah, milksteak got me too.
"They're your hamburgers, you clean them up."
"I see. I suppose I'll be taking that milksteak to go then."

Lost it hard when Charlie's mom threw her drink at Dee.
"Ghouls."
"I'm a full on rapist"

Fucking amazing. Great episode, I've loved the hell out of the last 4 (after a shaky premiere).
So let's get this straight Charlie favorite food is milksteak. His favorite hobby is magnets, just magnets. He likes ghouls, funny little green ghouls, little green goals buddy and he doesn't like people's knees.

- "Cover your knees up if you're gonna be walking around everywhere." - Charlie Kelly

Fantastic.

Charlie attempting to dress up was one of the most frightening things I've ever seen. When he smiled at Jackie, all sweaty and blood dripping down his face, I lost it.

Dee's whole party scene was greatness. It seems Frank is continuing his slide into depravity. I don't even want to know where he put those onions if that is what caused Artemes "make me feel like a cobb salad" got scared off. Charlie's mom throwing her drink into Dee's face and Mac's mom chain smoking
and yelling at Dee to give her a cartoon of smokes was the icing on the cake.

Arrested Development did it better, but I still chuckled.

So much to love. Although, I'd love to know what Charlie gave the dude. I was thinking it was the Hornets nest.

Mac trying to one up Dennis by saying he was the restaraunts owner was great.

Next week looks epic...Green Man vs the Philly Fanatic.

It was, did you not see the giant "H" on the box?
It was the box of hornets he had created earlier to try and suck the honey out of them (!)
EDIT:Already answered.

I'm really loving this season so far.
I misheard "people's knees" as "people's needs" and wish they went with that. The selfishness of Mac, Dennis and Dee gets kind of predictable: I find myself waiting impatiently for Charlie. Someone besides him needs a sympathetic trait and/or the waitress needs to be on more (and getting involved with the group for non-selfish reasons, not starting at their level).

Or the plots need to complicate themselves more quickly. The best episodes do that: Mac Bangs the Waitress, Mac Bangs Dennis' Mom, my favorite character of which, Mac's mom, returned tonight.

I also heard needs. Definitely funnier.
Not only is needs funnier, but it makes the knees comment come out of nowhere, which then makes that funnier.

But on second watch, knees is still funny.
Also on re-watching, I love the bit when Charlie suggests taking another picture, and Mac just goes "nah.......nah...." making this hilarious face, then he looks like he's genuinely trying to hide real laughter.

All true. After watching this ep, the first thing I thought was why couldn't Artemis have been in The Gang Gives Frank an Intervention? Would've set new levels of hilarity.

I know some people don't like Artemis, but she never fails to crack me up. I think the episode where the gang investigates who pooped the bed was glorious, specifically because of Artemis' elaborate whodunnit theory.

One of my favorite episodes. I love Artemis almost as much as I love Jane Lynch. If the two ever appeared in anything together, my mind would probably implode.

Truth. I asked for a boiled milk steak on my facebook status page today. Several people thought it was an actual food item and said it sounded disgusting. I'm debating whether or not to explain it. Nah, probably not.
