House season 6

2 Hour premiere tonight of House as we get to visit Mr. House in a mental institution. I have loved the promos they have used with the song "Grounds for Divorce" well because that song is awesome.

Can't wait to watch it. I'm hoping we get a reboot of some sort.

I mean, you aren't really going to watch 2-hours of Heroes are you?
Monday Night Football beckons, but I'll DVR it. The promos have been pretty entertaining so far.
Loved the promos so far. My ass will be on the couch with a smile.
Yes. So looking forward to this.
Yeah, I'm pretty much a HOUSE addict. The show is formulaic and predictable as hell, but I'm there every week for Hugh Laurie.
When the hell are they going to cough up the cash to jet Stephen Fry to the set for an extended cameo? That's what I want to know.
Finally. We get to find out whether or not House's mental breakdown was caused by lupus.
Be great if Rowen Adkinson (Blackadder , Mr Bean) were a fellow patient/or his shrink.

He is on Bones. Would seem logical to get him on.
Except that Bones is a Fox produced show and that House is a Universal produced show ...
Well, the blonde Doc was on MI-5/Spooks on the BBC where Laurie played a VERY House-like MI-6 guy for a few episodes..
So I'm not a regular viewer of the show, catch an episode here and there. So take my opinion with a grain of salt. But I seriously was disappointed with the premiere. I appreciate the idea of having a 2 hour episode set in a mental hospital. That's sort of novel. But everything else was so cliche. House being able to unmute the mute. Falling in love with the Bourne women within 30 minutes. His psychiatrist having a comatose dad just in time to help forward House's self-realization. I couldn't buy any of it. Treacly all over the place.
Yeah that was weird. A ton of growth and happines all in a 2 hour period. I kept expecting the camera to fade to black and cut to house waking up from a coma. Im just not that used to House being so upbeat. However I do think it was good it just felt off.
What, this was the show that cured House’s leg for a whole, what? Episode and a half? Two hours in rehab is practically a record for this show, this happy House subplot will be lucky to last even that long.

That’s just how this show rolls.
That was really great. It'll be five or six episodes before things get back to normal and then Franka Potente will show up to throw a wrench in the works about two-thirds through the season but it was worth it. I expected more of a mystery to the mute lady but whatever.
I liked it, though I think it would have been better if the kept him in the hospital for at least a few episodes.
I thought it was very nicely done. Now I just hope they don't start retconning the shit out of it next week.
missed this, damn MNF.. I'll hope to catch this on Hulu soon!
I'm pretty annoyed that Fox still only shows their shows in fullscreen when, like House its shot in widescreen.
Fantastic stuff. I think they have something to build on for the rest of the season. I just hope they stick with it and play with the dynamic a bit.
If this sticks for even a little while I will be a very happy House fan. They can do some interesting things on the show by playing around with the dynamic a little bit. Happy-ish house should be interesting.
Laurie is great, and I always love seeing Braugher, but I'm not sure a predictable retread of One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest is a refreshing change from the show's usual predictable format. If this gets Laurie a deserved Emmy, so be it, but I think I'll stick to watching Top Gear.

It played in widescreen for me.

And holy shit, we know what became of Curtis Armstrong's Better Off Dead character.

Ha!

Another annoyance, although this is a personal one: I think I've officially hit my "musical montage" limit. How many were just in the first hour? 6? 7?
Best episode of HOUSE yet.
I thought that it was a great premiere. I agree that he should have stayed in the mental hospital for a few more episodes, but I'm also eager to see this new (and happier) House interact with the regular cast.

The faceplant into the cake at the end was pretty priceless.
I thought it was terrific, and I'm mildly surprised at all the "longer stay in the hospital" sentiments. I thought two hours of House as R.P. McMurphy was just plenty. And I wouldn't exactly call House "happy" now, perhaps just a bit less of a misanthrope. It'll set up a great dynamic between all the series regulars as House continues therapy and tries to get back to practicing medicine. And I kind of hope we've seen the last of the painkiller addiction.

I loved it.
Jacob, you ancient but handsome coot, that's an outstandingly accurate summary.

And that was some great chemistry between Laurie and Potente.
They do say that he's been in Hospital a while, it's not like he's been there for 10 days or anything.

On the whole I'm mixed on this episode. I'm just about done with House, but this was enough to keep me watching for a few weeks. The problem with this show is that though it goes along different paths it always ends up on the same road. Like any other change that faces House, the writers are quick to explore it and then get out, leaving us right back where we've started. Frankly with a show in its 6th Season that shit shouldn't fly.

I loved this.. but almost wish this was the last House episode ever. This would have been a great series ending episode.

Great start to an often frustrating show. I'm back on board with it -- let's see where they go from here. And Braugher and Laurie together were just a joy to watch.

I think Alvy will be the patient from the Hospital that winds up at Princeton-Plainsboro mid-season.
How about a spoiler tag Jamie?! I didn't want to know who is leaving.
To be fair, the source of said article (EWs Ausiello) didn't feel the need for spoiler tags either. Please don't stop loving me.

Ausiello also does Lost spoilers. I wouldn't the spoiler in the headline in the Lost thread. You may get hunted down.

Not a Lost fan to be honest. *Awkward silence* I'm sorry.

When the show started I thought the video game layout looked a lot like the Hospital layout.. loved the way it blended together when patient-of-the-week started hallucinating.

Oh and the game looked pretty and sharp in HD.

and I kinda like House and Wilson cooking together.
Enjoyed the House / Wilson interaction, but the hallway hallucination sequence gave me the giggles.

I'm assuming Taub and Thirteen are gone forever, meaning until sweeps.

Taub might be gone.. but I'm pretty sure Thirteen will still be on the show (just not officially a doctor.. or moved into another wing)

You don't get rid of the supposedly hottest girl on tv according to Maxim or whatever magazine.. but I don't know I havent read any of the tv trades.
I doubt Taub or Thirteen leave. House is coming back for his job. Taub wants to work for House and Thirteen got fired by the guy that is about to lose his boss status. A great episode though. I appreciated that they didn't try to make any lame stereotypical gamer geek punchlines, but the quasi virtual reality/Wii set up was pretty off setting. Games are mainstream enough to not need that exaggeration, let Microsoft toss you some dollars to have a 360 controller in someone's hands. House's Asian cooking partner had perfect delivery on the "kiss him already" line.

The game thing distracted me too, especially Taub laying on the ground while the virtual bats were attacking him. Why would you lay on the ground?
Maybe they invented some of kind of neuro feedback that makes you feel like you're actually getting attacked by bats. Or something.

Well, let it be said that the Aussie has some fuzz on his peaches.

Last night's episode probably set up this season's arc. I guess House will be the comic relief for the drama that has unfolded with Chase and Foreman?
Props to James Earl Jones for bringing it this episode.
Changed the channel after 20 minutes. I simply don't care anymore.

That needs to be repeated. I was guessing we were in for a boring guess star phoning it in, but he was excellent.
So, when did House turn into 24?

He's a utilitarian! I like him much more now.

So, we know Cameron's gonna dump his ass when she finds out... but I wonder how House 2.0 will react?
Given who is leaving the show and who isn't, I think the possibility exists that Cameron isn't as innocent in this scenario as Chase would like Foreman to believe. It would fulfill her character's arch from the "informed consent" episode on.
