What?! No Heroes Season 4 thread?

Just putting up a thread for this horrible show. I'm sure most chewers are like myself and get more enjoyment out the Heroes season threads vs. the show itself. I honestly didn't know what season it's up to. I had to look it up.

Well, have at it people!
It was on against House. Sorry.
Last season for sure. It will probably end the season below 5 million viewers per episode.

No need to say sorry to me. I'm just curious if anyone is still keeping up with this trash.
I finally mustered the willpower to stop watching! I'm free! I'm free!
For a second I thought this was thread was simply called "What?! No Heroes Season 4?", and my heart raced with joy.
In all seriousness, I could swear I read (in a credible source, if memory serves) that this show was cancelled after season last season.
I DVR'd it but its last on the list to watch. The fact that this season it morphs into a retarded version of Carnivale doesn't help peak my interest much. If its on Hulu I may "watch" it in the background while I work. All depends on how much my stupid quota for the week is at. If I'm feeling smart and need to knock myself back down a peg I'll throw it on.

With the possible exception of Twin Peaks, has any zeitgeist show flamed out as quickly as this one?
I quit cold turkey at the conclusion of the fall storyline. The show is so bad that the only remaining coworker who still watches it because of his wife, gave me the the set up for a couple of scenes and asked me what I think happened and I nailed all three of them. Good riddence.
I don't get how you guys stuck with this further than the first half of season one. And even that was a chore.

It's because they structured the series off of Lost, which is all about continuity, and then started treating everything as if it was wresting, where none of the characters remember what happened six months ago.

It comes from another era of soap-opera-style television where you could insult your audience through laziness and get away with it because no one was really paying attention, yet based itself around a show that's whole premise was focused on the audience paying attention. Kind of flabbergasting actually.

I think the biggest "fuck you audience" (among a long series of "fuck you audience") was when they had season 3 Peter forget about searching for his lost girlfriend (his main motivation in season 2). I think it was that point where I decided I couldn't even enjoy the show on an ironic level and stopped watching.
In all fairness, it was a really good episode filled with really bad character decisions and storylines that will result in dead ends that they will have to retcon the show over to fix.

I do dig seeing T-Bag on the show and I enjoy the carnival style theme... overall, it looks cool and I'll watch it and bitch about it...

Glad Mohinder is gone (or appears gone), glad they're actually killing people off again. Hopefully they bring in hot new chicks with cool powers and get rid of the fucking cheerleader once and for all. Kill the Cheerleader, save the show.

It's like you read my mind and wrote my exact thoughts.

I haven't watched since the end of the irish girl in the future season.

Right, because killing one character will suddenly make the writing staff talented.

The character isn't real. The writers made her that way. Hope that's cleared up.
Did saving her ever actually save the world?
Nope. Didn't change a thing, since Sylar survived and got away.
Zeitgeist show? Come. On.

Let's not get carried away here.

Maybe "It" show is a better term, but let's not forget how ridiculously overexposed/hyped this show was in its first season.
And how everyone was putting it up against Lost, saying "At least Heroes answers its questions!"
Even if those questions were along the lines of "What color are my shoes?"
The premiere tanked badly...what are the chances that NBC cancels this before the season is over?
NBC are batting around moving this to Fridays. Good night, Kring.

Not that I don't believe you, but where'd you hear that?

Well to be fair it was pretty good in it's first season. Oh don't get me wrong there were plenty of problems but all in all it was a good season with a horrible finale. Then....everything went bad. Although it usually does when you introduce fucking time travel.

Between this and Leno NBC is bleeding from the ass this year.
I used to make excuses for this show. Now even watching this is a chore. There's no sense of suspense or credibility. Just plot devices moving cardboard characters forward.

A pity though. I am a sucker for "Everymen" superhero stories.
I haven't watched this since halfway through season 1, so I hope this doesn't come off as trolling, but I believe this show's concept is absolutely killer and should have resulted in a great addictive show. They fucked it up, just about right out of the gate.
I agree, that's the real tragedy of this show. Nobody's going to pick up this ball and run with it now. It's dirty.
Agreed. We've been fucked over way too many times.
It's like, I have the episode but it's a chore to even sit down to watch it, because I could be sleeping instead. It'll get watched eventually though.
I liked their initial idea of Season 2, which was I believe to follow a new set of people and have the Heroes of Season 1 take a back seat, or barely feature at all. Ever since that was nixed the show has spiraled out of control.

Still, Season 1 was still badly written stuff, but at least there was momentum to the show (I think?). I stopped watching part way through Season 3, mainly because they completely wasted Bubbles from The Wire, and because they had a great chance to be rid of Ali Larter and instead decided she was some kind of acting Chameleon.
We did it. We deleted it from the DVR. The wife and I finally wisened up and deleted it as I was adding Modern Family. I feel so...clean. Fuck you Kring, fuck you.
I gave up on this show about in season 2. Right around the time the woman who cried Black tears showed up and everyone talked in bad Irish accents.

The trouble with this show is they went to OTT with the powers. Sylar and Peter were insainly powerful very quickly and where do you go from there?

And despite both being gods on earth THEY NEVER FUCKING FOUGHT! At least not for more than 2 seconds at the end of season 1.
Didn't they fight though? Behind closed doors, because it's better if it's left up to the imagination instead of shown to the audience.
Remember at the height of its popularity, when there was going to be a spin-off anthology series, and the most popular characters from that show would be moved on to the main show? That was cute.
Yeah I watched the premier. You know what it was like? It was like watching Transformers 2. Sure the mechanics were better storytelling-wise but damn if it wasn't just as much of a chore to just finish the fucking thing.

The most frustrating thing about the show is not only a great concept wasted but every now and then ("Cold Snap" and "Company Man") the show flirts with taking that next step and getting legendary only to have the next episode go back to
being retarded all over again. Seriously, fuck this show for being so cruel.
I'm basically staying away from NBC on Mondays until Chuck returns.
Just on Mondays?

I don't think NBC has a show currently on-air that I watch.... oh, Law & Order, so 1 decent show.
The Thursday night group of shows is pretty solid. I also enjoy SNL and Conan. However, NBC's line up starts looking weak after that.
I really dislike this show and think that it's ridiculous, but I keep watching it for some stupid reason. Man, I didn't even like season one... I found the pilot dull...

*slaps self*
I tried really, really hard, but I couldn't even finish Disc 1 of Season 1.

This show has been awful from moment one.
Last night was almost an acceptable episode. For once they came up with an original power.

That Deaf Girl seems to have some kind of Dazzler soundwave ability.

Dammit, it actually got interesting this episode, I think. Please understand I very much hate saying that. But the guy collapsing the precinct after they drug the kid to death was actually a nice little vengeance thing. I'm sure it'll get ruined.
I bet a friend of mine that NBC isn't going to give this shit a fifth season but I'm afraid that going to be losing that bet. Damn it people! Stop watching this!
I TRIED!!!! Stupid netflix and their on demand! I had broken up with the damn show before I noticed that and realized I had 45 minutes to waste. Literally. At least I'm not a Nielsen house.
Just by accident caught the Promo for next week's episode.

Dammit! I thought we were done with all that Time Travel bullshit?

Lol it's really your fault for watching though you know that.

So now apparently Hiro is going to attempt to go back in time and save Charlie (no, not the one from Lost, the chick in the diner with the power to... remember a bunch of shit)... a storyline that was wrapped up in season 1.

Lets see what happens.
