Am I the only person who loves Manny?
Certainly not
Isn't he the little kid from The Foot Fist Way?
Claire and Present Danger = Pure fucking win.

I need to get myself one of those shirts.
Manny not only beating the girl but absolutely going to town on her was just awesome.
That poor girl. And diabetic...

Parking lot figure skating floored me. So funny.

Also, Phil cringing every time Jay slapped his hand, back or knee.
Phil's cluelessness wears on me sometimes (I'm talking about the writing; the performance is note-perfect), but there are invariably 3-4 moments in each episode that have me in helpless hysterics.

I think it's interesting that the two polar opposite characters--Jay and Cameron-- are the two that are the most grounded.

And the idea that, in Hollywood, you'd find a straight guy to play Cameron is just wonderful.
Jay's faces when he realized just how troubled that girl was had me in stitches.
and my god is Julie Bowen hot.
Elizabeth Banks AND Edward Norton in the same episode? This show is just pushing all the right buttons for me. Loved Jay spraying Mannie twice and the look Mannie gave him after.
Yeah, it came back with all guns blazing. The spraying bit killed me. Manny cracked up big time.

Phil trying to mention a song slayed me as well. "So Lilly's deaf..."
Edward Norton. Fantastic.
Elizabeth Banks? I though it was the chick who has her own talk show on Comedy Central. Picked up on Norton right away.

Jay squirting Manny was indeed fantastic. Also, the son thinking gramps was gonna die. The Anniversary stuff fell flat for me, though.
Oh no, Phil's reaction to the coupons was priceless. As was him desperately trying to recall ANYTHING by Spandau Ballet.

Chelsea Handler?

I loved Phil describing gifts that he would like to have - "Speakers that look like rocks! A yogurt-maker!"
Yes.

That was the bit that made me LOLZ. The serenade stuff just didn't grab me.

Nobody gets off the Rock.
Phil and his irrational fear of clowns was amazing. So was Dyllan.
It wasn't really irrational if you believe his mom's story of him finding a dead clown in the woods.

Great ep. So much good stuff. Cameron's clown was definitely a highlight. Also, all the neighborhood dads starring at Gloria in the moon bounce house.
I would stare at that for hours.
You guys call them moon bounces? We call them bouncy castles.

Anyway, not to sound too chauvinistic, but JUNGLE TANYA WAS FREAKING HOT. Apparently she was one of the girls in Even Stevens. She grew up fine.
Cameron busting out the big clock to remind Mitchell they're running late was classic.

Found out the actress who plays Haley is 19. I feel slightly less creepy.
She's 19? she looks 12.
Actually she just turned 19 on Tuesday.
can i just say once more, Ty Burrell is a fucking genius.

This is his star making role.

The guy has been putting in solid work for years, but jesus christ he is knocking this shit outta the park EVERY WEEK.
Fisbo the ass kicking clown was the highlight for me. The redneck doing the quick calculation on how badass he was going to look after getting whaled on by a gay clown and backing down right away.

Thanks for that. I was starting to worry about myself.

What the hell has this world come to when Kirby feels bad about that before finding out she's 19?
"I've wanted to be a clown ever since I found out clowns were just people wearing make-up."

Nope! I love the little squirt.

Fucking great episode. All the bead shit was fantastic.

"Do you need me to get you some more supplies?

From the 1950's?"

Haha. I'm getting old.
I still don't like the 2 daughters. They say things really unrealistically, especially the young one. But Ty is superb in this.
Still cannot believe he is not a Fandau!
The middle daughter rings totally believable to me -- as the smart one out of the three kids, she'd talk just like that.
Lovin' this show... definitely has heart, but doesn't stop being funny to do so.

Also, Fred Willard is guest-starring next week as Phil's dad. And if there has ever been better casting than that, I don't know what it is.
Not hilarious, but sweet.

Bad santa was great though.
Now THAT is how you do a Christmas episode.
Did I read correctly that the actress that plays the oldest daughter is 19!!?? That Can Not be true.
True, Buff.

And if there's a series on television right now with more heart and better chemsitry, I'd like to see it. Everybody seems to click with one another in a way that I haven't seen for a while.

I unabashedly love this show.

Yesterday, I noticed her for the first time in an Olive Garden commercial. At one point she sucks up a piece of spaghetti. Now that I know her age, I can say I enjoyed watching that.

As opposed to just thinking it.
Thank god for DVR. New ep tonight!

Interviewer: What's the most annoying this your parents say to you?
Luke: Stop talking Black. What does that even mean? Add izzle to the end of every word?
Alex (whispering in the background): Stop talking back.
Luke: Ohhhhh!

Benjamin Bratt was great as Manny's father.

Love that Cameron puts the baby to sleep by watching Scarface.
I didn't see any of that. Was it on at the very beginning of the episode?

The guy playing Phil is such a champ. Seeing his plan fall apart was so sad/great.
Ed O'neil waiting on the corner was sad/hilarious. Also "it's inapptopriate because she's your teacher."
The repeated gag of Cameron on the nanny cam sneaking into the baby's room only to have Mitchell yell at him was funny enough, but then the last time when Mitchell rises up from behind the crib just killed me.
When Mitchell popped up from behind the crib, I lost it. As well as him shooing Cameron "the bear" with the stool like a circus performer. So funny.

Yeah, the cold open. The Luke bit was made even funnier at the end of the episode where we see that Phil really does tell Luke "Don't talk Black."

Alex answered, "Act like a grown up. What does that even mean? Like grown ups I see in real life or my family?" Cut to Phil and Luke running around the kitchen excitedly talking about the water toy they were playing with.

Manny answered that it they told him it was inappropriate to date his teacher. Not sure what Haley's answer was.

"That's how girls end up dead." Which Claire is heard saying entering the hospital room.

Phil's laboured "Don't talk black to me!" had me in hysterics.
Phil's changing descriptions of his agony were hilarious.
"This is death!"
