The fact that something this cool actually exists might actually force me to rethink my usually shitty stance toward life, the universe, and everything.

A world with tauntaun sleeping bags can't be all that bad.
I'm kind of terrified that you even entertained the thought of buying that.
It unzips with a fucking lightsaber. Awesome.

I would've killed for something like that as a child. Would've added a whole 'nother level of realism to "playing Star Wars."

Holy shit, thanks for reminding me! My brother's one of those Star Wars LARPer guys, and he has a couple of little girls. I need to forward this to him, stat!
Well, what can I say. That is a cool sleeping bag.

I am one of those "I don't even LIKE Star Wars anymore" people, but even I must admit that's pretty classy.
Cool for kids. Not so much for adults.
Depends on the adult. If they make a Snuggie version... gold mine.

I can almost picture it on the next infomercial.

Wow. That website is nerd Shangri-La. Check it:
Thats going to give small kids knightmares.

"that right son, the inside of your sleeping bag does look like guts."

I may have to buy it for my nephew.
This has been "coming soon... probably" for ages.

And yeah I fail to see how 5 and a half feet is "enough room for adults". (yes I would probably get one if it was big enough...)
Wow.
And I gotta second the motion that that site is excellent. I'm trying to decide if a girl I brought back from the bar would still have sex with me after seeing this in my bathroom - http://www.thinkgeek.com/homeoffice/gear/b9b2/ - or if I'd suddenly find myself with a snoot full of pepper spray. Cause damn, that's the greatest curtain rug combo I've ever seen.

Level of detail: Great
Design of the Space Ship: Crap
$2,495 bucks? That's just retarded. Unless it's actually capable of flying into space.

They'll be gone by morning.
"It also has 32 lights, which can be remote controlled to flash, strobe or blink morse code messages to beg for help when you're trapped alone in your home full of clutter, empty pizza boxes and no sex". Well played sir.

http://store.quantummechanix.com/Bat...rint_p_69.html Also, this is only 15 dollars and may have to be bought. And that Cylon flipping the bird on the same website is adorable.
Wow. I like the show/movie, but if I ever show up somewhere and someone is proudly displaying this, I'm punching them right in the Browncoat.
this is pretty awful guys
As much as I love Firefly and Serenity, anyone who buys that deserves to be punched. The amount of millionaires who will actually buy this is minimal, but even them deserves the violence.

I once saw Solo-in-Carbonite replicas that cost that much.... I still want one. I tried explaining to my parents that they were cast from the same molds as the model used in Empire Strikes Back, but that would not sway them.

EDIT: I actually could have gotten it too, but I had to decide between YWCA Riding Camp, or a very cool, but very non functional wall decoration. At the time I thought I was making the right choice (riding horses, what could be better than that?!) but now in the cold harsh light of adulthood, that Solo is starting to look like a missed opportunity

That is kind of cool, but the Battlestar poster I really want would be a reproduction of that ridiculous presidential painting of Baltar.

I was just this close to buying the Deadly Spawn toy; think the shipping cost to London might be the putter offer...that and being fucking skint. It would look good next to Kong and Cthuhlu tho'. God I am torn...and lonely.
I'm still convinced that James Gunn based Slither on that film, and just doesn't like admitting to it.
It's been a couple of years since I last the film, and I may be wrong, but I question the accuracy of that Deadly Spawn larva figure(Ha! Holy shit, kill me). Mondotees or Velocitron didn't just acquire some generic alien slug toy mold and slap the Deadly Spawn name onto it, did they? Because my almost lifelong obsession with that film, which started when I received a copy of Fantastic Films that bore a small photo of the Spawn, itself, on the cover, won't allow me to stand for that sort of false advertising.

Having said that, all would be forgiven if at some point in the future they release figures of the final stage Deadly Spawn, Ellen with removable head and a second story bedroom window playset.

ETA: Upon further investigation this is just a rebranded figure after all. Bah! Give me a real line of Deadly Spawn figures. Yeah, like that will ever happen.

Damn you for your sleuthing... I wanted to believe! And damn them as well. Did you see what the shirt looked like by any chance? It's not bad at all although I think I like this one a wee bit better

At first I thought you were talking about toys for Todd McFarlane's "Spawn" that were unsafe or featured sharp or dangerous edges or something

I didn't recognize the pic in the article either. WTF.

Watch Night of the Creeps. It's the same movie as Slither (though I like Slither more).

ANGEL box set slashed in price to 53 bucks for 24 hours

http://chud.com/articles/articles/21...SET/Page1.html
post #35 of 113
Really...hmmm...tempting now.

Such a great show, been meaning to pick it up. For some reason, I find it odd that my room-mate adores the ending to this (great btw, the more I think about it), but fucking hates the ending to the Sopranos. So similar. Aah well.
I've been picking up each season for super cheap at Target (12 bucks each!) but now that that box set is going for 53 bucks...well, I do have a thing for box sets...hell, I'm waiting for Lost to be over so I can purchase whatever awesome box set they come out with.
It was a great show... and if I was over there I'd bag this; as it is the cheapest I can find it in the U.K. is 50 odd quid.

Still think the best ending to a show ever is in 'Six Feet Under' tho'

If they don't make the box look like a Darma Initiative crate, they missed the boat.

I feel like they already shot their "cool packaging" load with the upcoming DI-entric Season 5 special edition. But i hope they outdo themselves.

As for Angel, a DVR snafu lead to me not catching the start of a replay of the entire series on TNT, so this offer is the best chance i'm gonna get to check it out. Bought!

The comparative sizes of fictional creatures poster

http://chud.com/articles/articles/21...RES/Page1.html
post #43 of 113
Eh, I sort of prefer the design of Emmerich's 'Zilla to the more traditional Man-in-suit version. Does anyone know which is bigger between the two?

The ending to Angel is so great because it's both a finale for Angel and for the Buffyverse on tv, and it works on multiple levels. It almost works better than the Buffy finale, which I happen to adore, because Whedon didn't feel the need to make a Big Statement With Montage. "Let's get to work" is a perfect summation of so many of his themes, characters, and stories, and it's not overplayed.
That fictional creatures poster would be much more useful if it included God as well.
I'm pretty sure it does. Look closely...he/she's everywhere...

You made Jesus cry.

That poster is indeed awesome. I may actually have to spend some money on it.

I know you're something of a herp afficianado, Kate. Is it the anatomy of the CGI design? What did you think of Godzilla's more feral appearance as a CGI monster in Always 2?

As for the size of each critter, it depends on the movie. Per IMDB, Emmerichzilla's size is actually inconsistent from scene to scene in his movie.

While the monster Ferris Bueller fought ducks well below the Manhattan skyline, Godzilla is usually presented as towering over the Tokyo landmarks, probably so that the set designers won't have to go into so much detail making models that are going to get obliterated during filming.

Godzilla was depicted as having a considerable height and weight advantage over Emmerichzilla when the two fought in Godzilla: Final Wars.

Some of those posters made me want to be a teacher so I would have an excuse to hang them on my walls and be the cool teacher with posters who everyone liked. Then I realized I need money to live and the teacher option took a quick jump out the window.
