This is my follow-up to "Last Tuesday." At 35,000 words, you get TWICE the verbiage of "LT" at the same low, low price of $.99.

"Bones" is the story of a longtime veteran cadaver dog with the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police whose specialties range from human remains recovery to public order enforcement. When an outbreak of dangerous parasites begins bringing the dead back to life, Bones’ nose must go into overdrive to prevent disaster and save mankind in this apocalyptic tale of nature run amok.

The cover was once again done by Rahsan Ekedal, my "Cleaners" partner-in-crime who will be doing an illustrated version of one of these ("The New Guy") coming out in 2010. His "Bones" cover is one of my favorites of his, but look for more of his horror work this month in Dark Horse's "Creepy" #2 as he illustrates a Joe R. Lansdale short story.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!

Mark - will this ever be available outside the kindle? I dig the concept.

Loosely planning to do five or six of these, pick the four that I like most or have had the most positive feedback, and then self-publish them through Lulu as a collection, making them - again - as dirt cheap as possible ($3.99? $4.99?).

I'm really trying to see if I can do this without taking the more traditional, brick-and-mortar publishing route (may not work). But another reason I haven't approached any print folk about it is that I enjoy the DIY aspect of working with Rahsan on the art and trying to use the internet and word-of-mouth to move the books ("Last Tuesday" has routinely, almost daily, been a bestseller its first four weeks at the Kindle Store in Horror and in Short Stories - right in there with Stephen King and Dean Koontz).

And, of course, I just e-mailed you a .pdf of it, so there's always that
