Only about half way done, but so far, awesome fucking album. Love the new direction.

Also, they've announced (quite casually too) that they already recorded a full-length cover album of Dark Side of the Moon that will be released online soon. Fuck. Yes.

Nothing? I thought there were more Lips fans here than just myself.


After finishing, listening multiple times, digesting... this is way, way up there in the running for best Flaming Lips album (as a whole) in my opinion. Basically, time will only tell if it gets knocked down.

I'm still digesting. With the new Pearl Jam, 7 Worlds Collide, Mountain Goats, and Volcano Choir albums, Big Star box set, and the entries in the album-of-the-month thread (plus a bunch of older stuff I'm just getting into), I'm having trouble prioritizing.

I still haven't made it all the way through Embryonic yet. I like that they took a noisy left turn after the bad pop of At War with the Mystics, though.

Goddamnit. If I've proven nothing else in my time here, it's that I'm hopelessly inadequate at making sure there aren't existing threads.


That said... I'll be taking my thoughts over to the original thread.
