The Militia Movement's Obama Coup Video Game

This is just amazing to me.....

A choice quote from the site.....

Quote:
March 2011 - Sarah Palin found fighting in a militia in Virginia. She was helping to attack a convoy of C.O.R.N.Y. (Congress of Rejected and Neglected Youth) fighters. Sarah is still a candidate for that high office once Obama and his forces are neutralized. When asked for a comment by a local reporter she said " The time for talk is well past us. Don't ask me anything about any elections until we free this country completely from Obama, Hamas, and Obama's police force. We will put a complete end to Marxism once and for all right here in Virgina, God help us!" Sarah is well remembered for the constant attacks on her by the 'elite media'. The very same reporters and supposed news outlets such as the now defunct NY Times, that hid the news and played the most massive propaganda game on any free people in the history of mankind. With the Marxist elite media now a thing of the past, Freedom is surely rising. Sarah will make a fine President and has promised to do all in her power to put us back on the right path.
I literally have no words for this stupidity.....

How does this not fall under "Threatening The President"?

Honestly, this doesn't bother me too much. It's an outlet that's no different than Grand Theft Auto. Let them play their pretend war while eating Cheetos and getting fat. Much better than working out and being a real threat.....

Someones going to blow a fucking building up again. No question.

...and like last time it'll be 'white guys from next door'.

A ridiculous fantasy scenario isn't a threat against the US president. Someone made a movie called "The Assassination of George W. Bush" and that wasn't threatening him either. Instead of asking us "how is it not a threat", why not look it up? It's not difficult to find, and if you can post here you obviously have access to the resources.

I think someone's going to snap too. I was impressed that no one was killed by a crazy at a political meeting this summer. A building would be impressive, but shooting sprees are less work.

So, is this one also written by orson scott card?
It's a stupid video game, so I politely decline to be scandalized, if that's okay with everyone.

But they need the enemy to validate their hysteria! Don't you understand how this works?!

Shooting sprees lack artistry...

Why does no one use swords anymore?
Too much upper-body involvement, not enough payoff, weaker folks tire out more easily.

Don't joke, it's happened....

Read up on this, Inejiro Asanuma got katana'd in 1960 by an assassin

EDIT: The video
It happened here in Seattle a few years ago. A major road was tied up for hours while the police tried to think of a way to deal with a guy holding a sword. Firehoses didn't work, tear gas didn't work. Finally, they pinned him with a fire ladder.
Why didn't they shoot him? Could he block the bullets with his sword?
Sadly, I have to agree that that wouldn't have been advisable. Everybody was screaming for them to just shoot him, but if they had, at least as many people would have screamed "unnecessary force!", and for a much longer time.

THAT is awesome! If this teaches us anything, it's to never underestimate the power of a small group of committed people to change the world!

From the game's running alt-history newsfeed:

Ahhh, FEMA Camps. A long cherished trope in this area.

Meanwhile, I made my move on Henrico County...

I think I lost the assault. Then again, my morale was "yellow", so whatever.

Clunky, slow-thinking and primitive, the game reflects it's designers mindset pretty accurately. Even that right-wing fundamentalist pew-wankfest Left Behind:The Game was better designed than this. (And that was utter shit!)

Someone needs to tell them that Jefferson was a shrewd manipulator of the early American press and had many "Glenn Beck's" of his time on his personal payroll. His propaganda during the election of 1800 (and the Federalists) pretty much created what we see today in terms of Campaign media in American politics.

I wasn't politically engaged until the Iraq invasion, so can someone tell me, was the left this retardedly outraged nine months into Bush's first term?
Yes.

...Okay, no. No, we weren't.
We weren't making our own video games, no. In fact "2011: Obama Coup Fails" doesn't remind me of anything so much as Super Columbine Massacre RPG. If the sources hadn't been adequately revealed by the Crooks And Liars blog, I'd think "2011" was intended as a parody of the fringe-Right.
I refuse to take anyone who thinks Sarah Palin would be a good president seriously.

Well, eight months into it there was a lot of "He's on vacation again?" Then nine months into it, everyone was suddenly kind of scared stupid.

It's going to be fascinating to watch the hysteria grow from this over the next three/seven years. When you open with "you're a Nazi," where do you go?
Personally, I don't think they've mined "you're the Anti-Christ!" enough. That's a rich vein, right there.

"Convert the Heathen!"
"Damn, I missed!"
"No, you just winged him and made him a Unitarian."
