ALong those same lines, a Big video game playing as kid then as an adult trying to find your way in the world in a grown up body with a child's mind.

Second image at the link. The rest are pretty great too.

A Battle Royale game could be pretty great.

Sanford and Son: Go around and collect junk to make rent.
Theres something about mary: Wii only. Imagine controlling the zipper with your wiimote, or throwing drugs at pooches. Possibilities are limitless.
Arrested Development and the Sword of Destiny: I really don't know where to start. Just imagine the Gob Bluth melee action on his segway. Rock paper scissor mini games, Aztec Tomb mini game, and banana stand rapid sales. Final boss, a seal.

I cannot hear that movie's name without thinking of Diva. Same deal with any mention of ordering Arrested Development DVDs from Amazon.com

Memento (Heavy Rain style)

Point Break. You know you want it!

Frighteners.

From Dusk Till Dawn

Tremors, maybe.

My little niece would love Milo & Otis on the DS lol

I'd be all for a Christopher Lambert-voiced Highlander game (and I bet he would at this point, too). Minus fireball powers, of course.

Did you play Kane & Lynch? It got massacred by critics, but I enjoyed it. Clearly Mann-inspired.

I was almost going to buy this a while back. You're right, I heard mostly bad things about it, but I might give it a chance. And I can totally see how people compare it to Heat. Might pick it especially since its probably pretty cheap.

There was a Heat game in development by Gearbox but it fell through.

I think I heard about this. I figure Deniro and Pachino weren't up for the voice acting.
Or maybe they sussed out that making a HEAT video game is actually a really fucking stupid idea.

One sentence: "Pet Sematary: the Game"

Wait, what? Someone just did this?

God dammit, bastards stole my idea!

Braveheart the game....RTS or Dynasty Warrior style.
Zombie Land.....yeah, I know..far too easy.
Inglorius Bastards...Or a good wolfenstein game. Smash as the Bear Jew.
The One...Hell, play as the bad guy killing your own copies.
Brotherhood of the Wolf... Fighter, or some wierd p0rn game with Monica Belluci?
There was a 'Braveheart' PC game. I distinctly remember seeing it on sale for $5 in a budget bin somewhere.

Even worse, I believe it was a medieval/myth strategy clone.

The Big Sleep - a sandbox noir game, in glorious black and white!
Groundhog Day - an insanely complex game in which you must boost your scores in a large number of areas in order to redeem yourself, and break the cycle. Along the way, you can murder, steal, rape, but it will set you back hundreds of days. You must get everything ABSOLUTELY RIGHT. Including the ice sculpture and French poetry.
UHF - Manage your own tv station, produce the shows, deal with competition!

I maintain that in the right hands, an Amelie RPG would work.

For those of you who have seen the the late 70s/ early 80s film Victory with Sly Stalonne, Michael Caine, and the great Pele, this could make a pretty good game. A group of POWs trying to break out of a Nazi prison, while at the same time getting ready for a HUGE soccer game against the German national team. Killing Nazis, soccer (though I admit I'm not a big fan), and some stealth missions, all very workable game elements.

What an excellent idea!

I haven't played MOON yet, but what I heard about it got me thinking... and this could also apply to 2001 to a certain extent, I suppose. What if you'd take a pretty straight (though scifi) space shuttle simulator, where you have to go through the motions of a space mission in a realistic fashion, but as you go along an underlying narrative concerning your character is developed.

All in all, I'm surprised there's still so few companies that think out of the box like that, concept-wise. A highlight of last generation for me was BULLY... it took a very mundane plot and turned it into a thrilling adventure, through great production value (still one of the best OST I own), inventive subgames and loads of references to a wide range of movies and media in general. I'd love to see more of that on current gen.

I was watching Apocalypse Now the other day, and was struck by how similar Far Cry 2 is. Now, I know they're both based on the same book, but it got me thinking. I love riding the rivers in FC2 and think it would be great to have a game structured around going up river and encountering weirder and more evil stuff the farther you go.

Just finished rewatching Taken on HBO and can't help but think the potential it has to be great video game. Even better if Liam Neeson would lend his voice to such a game. There could even be a stage where you need to protect a Brittney Spears-like pop star from some psycho fan.

Ronin. Each story segment of this would pretty much allow you to switch gaming genres with every level.

There Will Be Blood. You play as Paul Sunday in a mission-based open world representation of California during its oil boom.

The Seventh Seal. A Fable-like crusades game with games of chess with death as the boss fights.

The Shining. You play Jack, with all possible endings to the story on the table.
Boondock Saints - go around dispensing justice to mobsters, a la Army of Two style. Probably would be better than the movie.
Cancer is better than that movie.

ROFLMO...I never said it was a good movie, just idea for a game that would be infinitely better than the movie.

Another idea for a movie would be based off of Things To Do In Denver When You Are Dead. Kinda like the old Friday the 13th game, you would have to select the right (camp councilor) gang member for the missions based on their skills while avoiding (Jason) Mr. Shhh.
