I guess I kind of see what some of you are saying.
Maybe I'm built differently, but for me things like this are up there with going along with some sort of mass hallucination and pretending you are seeing the giant purple monkey that everyone else sees.
I see value in truth (insomuch as we can possibly comprehend it), and I won't go along with a religious ceremony just for family peace. I'd ditch the family before I did that. They need to respect the fact that I don't take part in nonsensical magical thinking if they even want to know my address and ever interact with my daughter.
