As a result of an off-hand comment by a co-worker looking to find old instruction manuals for Lego sets, I let them in on a site I go to quite often, and promised to mail out the link. My OCD kicked in an and I gathered up a bunch of the sites I've been to or regularly go to that are Lego related, and I wrote them and a few other bodies who looked interested at the meeting this e-mail:
The next day at coffee, nothing but awkward glances and polite small talk. I might have gone too far with including the Brick Testament link I think. But more than likely it's because they asked for just one thing and I inundated them with 50 million. I cannot help it, it's how I am wired. The sad part is that there are some people here that would think all of those links were neat. I guess it's not really the sad part, as their reaction doesn't bother me. I just thought it was sort of funny so I am sharing it here. I find that lots of the unionized workers at the college have exactly zero imagination or even curiosity. The job just doesn't cultivate those qualities for them I guess :P
