AMERICAN GOTHIC...why so overlooked...

The 80's horror film American Gothic has always been one of my favorite movies ever since i was a kid. I got jazzed to watch it again after loving House of 1,000 Corpses...i wanted to see my other favorite demented family with Ma, Pa, Teddy, Woody, and of course Franny. Not to mention Woody is played by Corpses' own awesome character actor Michael J. Pollard.

This has some great creepy characters and is overlooked in my opinion as i never hear anyone talk about it....

what are all of your personal opinions on the film? hate it? agree w/me?

Not a bad little horror flick, very strange atmosphere and some effective performances.

I haven't seen AMERICAN GOTHIC since the 80's, but I remember not liking it, which translates into I'd probably not like it now ...

Anyways, I suppose I'd be up for seeing it again after all these years ... I love crazy family films ... SPIDER BABY, GIRLY, HOUSE OF WHIPCORD, THE BABY, FRIGHTMARE , gotta love 'em ...

I don't remember it being horrible, but I don't remember it being good.
What I do remember is how sorry I felt for Rod Steiger.
