her manager, Lisa Weitz, said in an e-mail.

"She loved the woods and had a deep affinity for their beauty and serenity,"
Nothing quite says "serenity of nature" like a pack of coyotes mauling a teenager at dusk.

Wow, a Tom Waits song comes to life.

I don't know. If you're a coyote, then a nice twilight meal with friends might be very relaxing...

Witnesses report that Mitchell, just prior to the attack, flicked her tongue several times and cried, "Meep Meep", but simply could not outrun the hungry predators.

I always imagined this as the result if that schene in Disney's Snow White had gone horribly wrong.

Yes, it will be called Ugly Coyotes.

It wouldn't be surprised to hear if this woman had a touch of Timothy Treadwell in her and maybe tried to get a little too close to these charming creatures.

Never would have happened with wolves.... Now even Massachusetts is being menaced by coyotes these days. All because the North American Timber Wolf was driven to near extinction by a Kill-Crazy President and his team of professional fear mongers

I'd so rep you for this if I could. . .

Jesus, Cape Breton strikes again. I've walked that wonderful trail before, great sight-seeing spots. Never once did I notice any coyotes or wolves. It says this is the first attack by them since they were "discovered" on the land in the 70's, which is really weird.

I was just about to say, has the ACME corporation issued a statement regarding this?

Unfortunately, no one told her that when a coyote is chasing you, paint a picture of a cave and then enter it. It's the best defense.

Poor kid (Singerus Folkus Canadianus) never had a chance, what with those coyotes (Appetitus Giganticus) being super-geniuses and all.
