are plans for "the damnation game" movie still moving forward? I haven't heard anything about it in awhile. That book was awesome.

The last thing about 'The Damnation Game' movie that I heard was from Barker at a signing last October. Here is what he said:

Barker: Damnation Game will be a movie from Warner Brothers sometime next year(2003)I think though we won't see it on the screen until the year after(2004).
Question: Do you expect it to follow the book closely?
Barker: Not closely. It is a hard one and frankly I've been so focused on Abarat, that I haven't been perhaps worried about that the same as I have been previously.

That was from last year so who knows where it is at now. I had heard that it was going to have a 45 million dollar budget at one point. I also heard some crazy rumor that Sean Connery would star as Whitehead and be an executive producer. Barker said that Connery's involvement was false though. It could be really good but I don't like the sound of Warner changing it from the book.

He doesn't have my animalistic sex appeal, so that idea was scrapped.
