I put some of the money I got for my birthday today to good use and picked up this little charmer. Now, I never played the arcade version - truthfully, I don't think I ever saw a machine - and I'm usually more of a Street Fighter guy, so I wasn't sure if buying this cold was the best move. That anxiety was soon allayed, once I got online with a good friend of mine. It's an eminently playable brawler that, while immediate, boasts all the intricacies and quirkiness you'd expect from a Tekken title.

If anyone fancies pugilizing a soft touch, feel free to friend request me (best to mention CHUD in a message, probably) and have at it. Even with Bruce Lee - sorry, "Law", I'll still be yours for the clobbering.

Sounds good. I've been a fan of this series since the first one on PS1.

Granted, I'm no Tekken aficionado (2 and 4 are the only titles I've really played, aside from this), but it really is. Coming from the lighter, busier Street Fighter school, this hits me on a really base level; it's nice to feel the weight of every punch and kick, instead of becoming almost desensitized to them due to their ubiquity.

As far as I'm concerned, the story mode is a bonus, at this stage.
