Washington cult behind the coathanger amendment

The whole C Street "The Family" cult freaks me out. It's like something out of National Treasure or an episode of Masters of Horror. So, it turns out not only are Stupak and Pitts both C Street cultists, a whole bunch of the congressmen who voted for it are also C Street cultists.

Must-watch interview about it on Maddow last night

To paraphrase the (otherwise rather silly) series The Unit: The people with real power dont sit in the white house... they rent it out.

Hm, a bunch of white middle aged men living together in a townhouse on C Street. But they condemn Foley for being gay?

These guys remind me of the Lyndon LaRouche cult except they are determining national policy.

Is there a bunch of religious zealots that does not have a say in your government? Robertson has a voice, the Moonies are big in DC, there's these guys, there's whatever snakehandling outfit greased up Sarah Palin's hands as she pledged to use her powers as Governor to battle witchcraft or something, who's left? The Rastas and the Breatheairians? The Church of the sub-Genius?

I'd say that last group is quite well represented

There are so many layers of power between the people of the USA and their government that you have to wonder why they even bother with elections any more. Whoever first thought that all these lobbies, PACs, clubs secret and not so secret, cults in all but name and all the weird stuff that you have allowed to surround your government, are in any way compatible with democracy, should be dug up, ground up and shoved up his closest living relatives ass.

I can't believe you tolerate this stuff and yet you think unions are bad.
