Cell Phone Advice

Not exactly what you're expecting this to be--my LG Incite has turned out to be a piece of shit. Literally. I'm on the 4th iteration of the phone, and it's still screwing up on me, so I get to pick a new model. However, I'm restricted to what AT&T will give me in return. My choices are:

Samsung Blackjack II
Motorola Q9H
Pantech Duo

I'm leaning toward either the Blackjack or Motorola. The Pantech has a slide out keyboard, but reviews say it's a shitty phone. The Motorola has gotten the best reviews I've found, but it's a big fucking phone. I already have a bunch of the accessories for a Samsung also, because I used to have a Samsung before I got the Incite.

I know, they're all old models, but I don't have a choice. Or, I can just deal with my phone sucking for another 16 months.

Fuck me. Or rather, fuck AT&T. I make a decision, call them back, and not only is the one I picked not currently in stock, but none of the original 3 he gave me is in stock. The only one he could offer at the time was the Pantech Matrix. So I told him I'd call back later this week to see what else they had in stock then. My current phone is slowly falling apart. Bluetooth stopped working about 2 weeks ago, and the battery won't stay charged past 24-36 hours, no matter how little I use it.

I hope this Droid thing works out well, because I think I'm done with AT&T when my current contract is up in 2011. Maybe the iPhone will be available elsewhere by then also.

Sorry to hear all this.

I haven't really replied here because I have no experience with AT&T or those phones.

I'm on Verizon and used cheap phones (the freebies they give out) until I finally got an enV (which I loved). Then I decided to start being more choosy and currently have a Versa. Both by LG and I've loved both. I'm planning on making the Droid (or if I wait long enough, whatever the next bet Android/Verizon phone happens to be) my next phone.

Hope things start looking up for you.

Well, I ended up selecting a Nokia E71x. Supposed to get here Friday or Monday. Hopefully will last me the next 15 months or so, then I will probably say "sayonara" to AT&T.

Got my Nokia on Friday, and I like it. I'd resisted the Blackberry-type phones for a while, but I've gotta say, I really like having an actual, albeit small, keyboard on the thing.
