Spider-Man vs. Batman - Page 2

I seem to have inadvertently arrived on the newsarama.com threads.

Fucking nerds.

Spidey for the win (Spidey-Sense vs. Comical deep Voice). If you look hard enough spidey has taken out pretty much every heavy hitter in the MU. There is only one image i can associate with this fight - batman webbed to fuck, hanging from a lamp-post with a label reading "FAG".

We're all huge nerds here.

And I'm not saying that Batman wouldn't put up a good fight.
He's friggen Batman, I just gotta throw my hat in with Spidey.

Two of my favorite issues of Amazing Spider-Man were from the late 80s, black costume period, when Spider-Man took on Fire Lord. Fire Lord, a Herald of Galactus.

I agree that a character is only as powerful as the writer's intentions (see Erik Larsen having Doctor Octopus beat the Hulk, and Peter David's subsequent reaction), but I will say this: Spider-Man has never died.

Uh... I'm guessing you haven't read Spider-Man: The Other, whereupon he did die. He got better, though.

'Course, that whole shebang got retconned when Quesada had Spidey's marriage to MJ wiped out thanks to Mephisto (was there ever a time you didn't need flow charts and a fucking slide rule to read a modern comic book?).

You know, I had forgotten all about that pos The Other. When JMS started hinting at spider totems and destiny and all that I didn't mind so much, but once Spidey grew spikes from his wrist and ate a guy, I checked out.

For the crap that was One More Day, Brand New Day has been a treat.

What about Dick Grayson Batman versus Ben Reilly Spider-Man? Battle of the replacements!

Nightwing or Batman Dick Grayson?
Cause its a lose if its Nightwing, but a complete win if its (Batman and Robin) Batman...guy has a flying batmobile!
