Please read the articles if you're commenting in the thread. Thanks.

Really? That needs to be asked?

I can't find the article for this thread, so disregard this post.

You're neither cute nor clever.

Wow, that's just sad. Kinda shocking that it happens enough to warrant this. If main page articles were consistently massive, I could see people skimming or skipping them before leaving a very general sort of comment, but they're usually pretty short. A couple of minutes, and you can make a semi-informed post. Seems like it would just be a basic sign of respect towards the writer.

It's my fault, and I should know better. I'm sorry.

It's pretty awful that we have to have a thread on this, but it's also even more awful that it just seems like everyone's in line to yell "FIRST" lately instead of actually contributing to a constructive discussion. Maybe I'm just getting old and crotchety, but I'm noticing this more and more.

It's not just you Gabe, someone else posted yesterday asking a question that had already been explicitly answered in the article they were commenting on. Also, even though I do read articles before posting I'm at least half retarded so it might not seem like it sometimes.

It's also not like the articles are several pages long. What's it take to read one? 4 minutes?

I've been guilty of this, in the instances when shit was virus-y. But I always, always read the article before making a joke that I fear Devin might have already made, or asking dopey questions, the answers to which are spelled out in the article. Respect.

Aside from the common sense of reading an article before opening your mouth about it, reading the article (and I'm not sure this is how it works or anything, I just like to believe it works this way) also gives some page hits to CHUD which, in turn, drives revenue and supports CHUD and allows us to have these boards.

Not to mention they're consistently very well written.

No doubt. Devin especially has a great sense of humor, it's been cool to see him on TV (G4) now too. Kind of like when you're in kindergarten and you first run into your teacher at the grocery store and you're amazed that they exist outside of school, I'm always consistently impressed that Devin exists as a physical being in the real (well, televised) world

Even if I know that I don't care about the movie Devin is writing about, it's always fun to see what his take on the material will be

This is another great thing about CHUD. Not that articles are short (they aren't always) but that they don't stretch shit out over multiple pages to bump up ad hits. On any other site, lists (like the recent Bad for Us, Worse for Them series) would be spread out over multiple, take-forever-to-load pages. I hate that.
