TV's on its way out. Any sweet deals on Black Friday?

My Sony Trinitron takes a good 10 minutes to jump start, and if the pic isn't blue at first, it's a miracle.

Looking for amazing savings on a decent HD widescreen. Any rumblings for Fri?

Best Buy is running head-to-head in competition with Walmart for the best sales on HDTV's during the Black Friday 2009 sales. While Walmart boasts the deal of the season - a 50" Sanyo 720p HDTV for $598 - Best Buy has some deals on some name brands such as Samsung and LG. Some of the deals at Best Buy are close enough to the Walmart deals that shopping at the Best Buy sale may be the wiser choice. After all, Walmart doesn't have a Geek Squad that can help you install your new purchase.

Thanks!

If you have an HHGreg in your town check them out too. HHGreg and Sears have probably better customer service than Walmart and Best Buy combined.

Be careful. Often the Black Friday deals are for sub-standard sets. For example, they may cut the price dramatically on a non-120 Hz LCD that has a lousy contrast ratio and try and play it off as a reduction off the price of superior sets at the same store.

Most normal people don't need 120Hz screens. Definitely be wary of the contrast ratio though.

Ehhh I though that too but sometimes that motion blur makes things unwatchable. Seriously 30 days of night hurts me sometimes. Around January im getting 240HZ with LED backlighting, can't wait.

I'm really tempted to get a TV soon, but I could still wait a bit longer. I really don't see any great deals on Black Friday so I may hold off a bit.

Amazon had some ok deals for Samsungs but I keep hearing they have (or had) lots of quality problems.
