Daughter and I both got library cards this week.

Gotta really pinch the pennies and get as much free entertainment as we can right now. My daughter loves to be able to pick out whatever she wants. She's 5 and she considers this a major milestone in becoming a "big girl".

I was surprised to see music CDs to borrow.

And CHUD on DVD!

Good! Start 'em young.

And, yeah, most libraries have had pop music CD collections for almost 20 years (probably longer for classical and jazz). Chances are you can access your library's catalog from online and request items (CDs and DVDs included) from other libraries in the system, too.

Also, every time a five year old gets a library card, a librarian gets his/her wings, so that explains why MissZooey's been flying around the apartment for the last hour.

I remember seven year old me explaining to my mom that libraries just let you borrow stuff for free. I love my mom.

Been hitting the library a lot lately as I plow through the Travis McGee series. For the first few, all they had were 30-year old large print editions. So, my transformation into an old man is complete. I'll be watching reruns of Andy Griffith if you need me.

I haven't been in a library in probably 15 (Senior year of high school).

My lazy friend has been praising the home delivery. I like to browse myself hands-on.
