TATSUNOKO vs CAPCOM, only on...Wii 1/26

I am quite surprised that there hasn't been a thread for the coolest looking fighting game of 2010. No, Not...Super Street Fighter IV...Tatsunoko vs Capcom! As a longtime fan of both anime, and Tatsunoko productions in particular, this is the game, that caused me to buy a...Wii! Tatsunoko has produced...Science Ninja Team Gatchaman, Macross, Tekkaman, and Mach Go Go. There have been US adaptions of Gatchaman as...Battle Of The Planets, G-Force, Eagle Riders, an OAV aka original anime video of Gatchaman in 1994, as well as the potential Imagi Entertainment cgi film...Gatchaman. Speed Racer was one of the first anime series aired in the US. Mach Go Go was the Japanese title. Macross was famously combined with 2 other anime series as...Robotech. I should mention that there are no characters from Macross or Speed Racer in the game. Tekkaman has been aired in the US, as has it's oav sequel Tekkaman Blade. TB was renamed Technoman for US tv as well. The Tatsunoko side has robots, ninja (3 from Gatchaman), cyborgs, etc, while Capcom has characters from...Street Fighter II and III, Viewtiful Joe, the Mech from Lost Planet, Mega Man etc. Is anyone as interested (or even half as into...Tatsunoko vs Capcom as I am?

Alex Augustine, You're right, I forgot about it, since I was the last one whom posted in it. Sometimes, I can be an...Idiot.

It looks pretty cool, but I don't really have much interest in the Tatsunoko characters. Besides, my heart belongs to Super Street Fighter IV. CODY 4EVA!!!!!!!!

Guy and Cody and no Haggar? I call bullshit on that; I need to play with mayor power.

Fine, go buy a dippy little costume for Zangief and make him into Haggar BECAUSE THEY ARE THE SAME CHARACTER.

Ryoken, I agree with you, and I am...HAGGARed that, the Mayor of...Metro City, is not in...Super Street Fighter IV! As a fan of...Gatchaman (I bought all...105 episodes of s1, a few years back) I have to put them above SSFIV, as my expected, #1 fighting game of...2010!

Shine on, you crazy diamond.

No way. Zangief is all about his principles. No weapons see. All about wrestling bears bare handed.

Haggar... well when the going gets tough, he's not going to ignore the effectiveness a drain pipe has to the head of some street punk.

Brad Milliette, Those videos are...awesome, especially the video with the...Giant Mech...Ivan (Lost Planet), Vs Tekkaman Blade. Rock Em Sock Em Robot fighting is always cool to me!

I have no idea what that big blocky gold thing is, but it makes me laugh. Enjoy your humorous looking fighting game, duke!

Brad Millette, Gold Lightan, is a...super robot that can shrink to the size of a...lighter. Check out the video of the anime on...youtube.com. I saw...Gold Lighten, the toy at...Toy Tokyo at 7th st and 2nd ave in NYC the other day. While Tatsunoko vs Capcom does have it's share of goofier characters, there are more serious fighters there as well.

Oh cool! I used to watch the US version Teknoman. I thought that was a pretty entertaining series.

Kriegaffe, The original...Tekkaman is in the game as well. I am mainly excited for the inclusion on not one but 3 of the heroes from...Gatchaman! The only characters I am not interested in at all are the...Mega Man ones.

One day you need to write an extensive post explaining to us all how we should correctly use... ellipsis.

Jus 16 days to...Tatsunoko Vs Capcom arrives in stores. Is anyone buying it?

Tatsunoko Vs Capcom arrives...Today! I cannot wait to play this game. It is the first Capcom vs title, since SNK vs Capcom 2. Tatsunoko vs Capcom should easilly be my...game of the year! While Tatsunoko is not a household name, if you are an anime fan, then you probably watched at least one of the...3 adaptions of Science Ninja Team Gatchaman. Battle Of The Planets in the late 70's, G-Force in the mid 80's, and Eagle Riders in the early 90's. A new Gatchaman oav (originally animated video) also arrived in the US in the mid 90's.I was disappointed in...Play Magazine including a...Mass Effect 2 cover, instead of...Tatsunoko vs Capcom.

This game is...Awe-Inspiringly Awesome!
Fleed's right.. the game is pretty damn fun.

Ironically enough, took a while to get used to the uber-simplistic controls (only two attack buttons? hadoukens are a single button press??), but once you get the swing of things its pretty much awesome, even without knowing who half of the characters are. [Insert Odd Japanese Character Name Here] with the big boomerang spear weapon has one of my favorite specials in the game, when he tosses it out and refracts his laser blast off of it and it basically annihilates any/everything under it. I'm sure Fleed will help me out with the name there.

Also thank you video game for finally healing us between rounds on the big shape-shifting end boss enemy, they're tedious enough without having to defeat 3 increasingly bullshit forms on one life bar.

Trejo, Tekkaman, the 70's anime series...Tekkaman The Space Knight. Intros to all the Tatsunoko series are on youtube. My favorite characters are of course...Gatchaman's Ken The Eagle and Jun The Swan. There is a third Gatchaman character Condor Joe, but he might have to be unlocked. In NYC, Toy Tokyo on 7th st 2nd ave, has lighter sized...Gold Lighten's.

Wow...So only Trejo and I enjoy this game? Not only is it...All Kinds Of Awesome, but it is easy to play. I highly recommend...Tatsunoko vs Capcom for anyone interested in a 2D fighting game. I brought this over to my best friends house, and her 2 sons age 7 and 9, played for 1 hr and 30 min, not counting a break for dinner.

I'm going to pick this up I think. Is there an online feature as well?

kingcujoI, Yes, the online option is called...wi-fi battle.
Have you tried it duke? Is it laggy? Easy to find a fight?

I'll probably pick this up once it drops in price.

Nexus-7, I do not play games online. The easy mode is easy enough, that I beat it 10 times, and that rarely ever happens. My interest in gaming is far greater than my skill. Tatsunoko vs Capcom is definitely, my expected top game of...2010.

kingcujoI, Is your avatar from...Intellivision Football? I do not play games online, as I prefer to spend my money on another game, than the monthly service fee. Alas, we will not be able to play vs each other in...Tatsunoko vs Capcom.

Duke, My avatar is from Tecmo Bowl (Bo Jackson). The Wii has a free online component, does capcom charge individually for their games?

Ah, that is the truth yes. You need invest in the wireless router good sir. The Wii has wireless adapter built in.
Yeah duke you do. If you have wireless it's painless and simple to connect. If you don't, it's pretty cheap to buy a dongle that connects to the USB ports in the back for you to connect an internet cable to, assuming you're on highspeed.

*edit- beaten to the punch.
