It's a very fine scotch. I poured a small shot to taste over lunch and now I can hear it calling my name.

It'll be gone by Christmas, I'm sure.

Almost a guarantee.

All I have to say is that I'm glad that I live an hour away from an Amazon hub.

Chris Olson got me The Wages of Fear: Criteiron (Blu-Ray) and Inventory (Book) by the Writers of the AV Club.

Awesomeness!
Awesome! Glad it showed up today, Anderson, and I really hope you like the gifts. I was excited to see Inventory on your list, because I was gonna get that for you anyway, along with something else. I'm almost done with the book, and I fuckin' love it. One of the best purchases I've ever made, and I've been getting copies for everyone who is on my gift-giving list.

Anyway, Merry Micklemas, ya dead ferret lovin' basterd!
Thanks!
Well, i'd love to report that i got hammerhead's gift already. But the UPS guys are demanding that i pay u$s220 in taxes and importing fees hahaha.

We'll see how i will work this out! Stay Tuned!
Good GOD...Hammerhead, what did you ship Tati?
They are insane. It's not that the gift is huge or ultra expensive, it's my crazy county's laws.
Taxes on young Thai boys look to be getting out of control...
That's why I made a point of ordering something WITHIN Canada for Ryan S. I didn't want either of us to suddenly get hit with hidden fees and shit.

$220 is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out of line.
I hope Tati gets it and opens it to find a pair of woolen socks and one of those Twildos.

As long as the value is under $300 and the items are not for re-sale, then there shouldn't be any issue with needing a formal import clearance (I've shipped a few things to Brazil in the past). Make sure they understand that it is a gift. You might need the person who sent you the gift to contact the shipper and clarify if they didn't check the correct box.
Yeah, i called them up and told them it's a gift and the value is really low compared to that.
They told me that was irrelevant as everything that gets imported gets taxed. But they would try to contact the shipper.

If they want to call me, that's my phone number on the shipping info.

Dammit, I should have sprung for gift wrap.

Damn it. I forget that you're in Argentina. Yeah, they are harsh there. Virtually everything coming in is taxed.

Subotai was way too kind to me in the packages that just came in today.

Scarecrows - Awesome horror flick

Friday Night Lights: The Complete First Season

Shiri - Asian action flick that I've heard of and always wanted to see.

Day By Day Armageddon - A zombie novel!

Thanks, Subotai!

From the late eighties? Nice flick.
Yeah, it's the one from the late 80's. It's one atmospheric and creepy flick.
I always had a soft spot for that flick. I was sorry the director didn't get more work after that.

Anderson is the pretty prince of parties, having sent me:

Up (Blu-Ray)
2-Disc Benjamin Button Criterion
It's Always Sunny Christmas Special (Blu-Ray)

AND A DEAD FERRET!
Dead ferrets for all. I use mine as a Faux Fantastic Fox necktie.

That's no FERRET!
THAT'S a WEASEL!

Mr. Troy Nixey, fine sir that he is, drew me a picture (and framed it!) of the torch-bearing Uruk-hai from the battle at Helm's Deep.

It's fucking rad.

Well done, sir.

Making it even more special: His art brushes are made from my pubic hair.
I knew it was framed for a reason.
Pics, please!!!
Extremely poor quality because it was taken with my phone, which is of extremely poor quality. This does not do it justice.

He also signed Merry Christmas on the back, but I'll let that stay between Troy, myself, and Nick's pubic hair.

Just wanted to say that I was watching the new episode of Top Gear and the scotch they had in the beverage container of the Rover was the same as the one Judas got me. How friggin' awesome is that!

I celebrated by having a wee dram.

So not. I'd love to go back to Van but all the sound studios down there hire as freelance and with a family I can't live on freelance gigs.

Calgary's no better* but at least here I own my house instead of being in debt half a million to the bank for it.

*But we may be getting a new studio to replace the old Curry Baracks.

Diva just earned my lifetime defense of her Gossip forum proclivities with her awesome gift of Seagalogy and Pushing Daisies Season 1 on BluRay. The latter will no doubt also earn my wife's gratitude as well, as it is her fondest dream to own Anna Friel's wardrobe in this show (sadly, she doesn't share my love of Hard to Kill).

Jason Thompson coming through big-time!

- "From Earth to the Moon" DVD set (loved this on HBO, never got it so I'm pumped to add it to my collection)

- Devil in the White City by Erik Larson. I've heard great things about this and I absolutely love historical non-fiction.

Thanks good sir!
After several attempts to negotiate with the custom officers and UPS, they won. It's not possible to get it without paying that crazy tax. So fuck them and i hope they enjoy an unclaimed package for life.
I want to publicly thank Hammerhead for his generosity, i know how much he spent shipping that here.

On other news, Jeremy's gift is at his post office already. He should pick it up today!
Seagalogy is an awesome book.

Looks like I'll be spending my birthday warm and toasty. A huge thanks to Doc for making it happen.

Copies of The Iron Giant, Tideland and Used Cars on DVD. Commentaries, here I come! \

Thanks so much, Sean!
NICE one, Whirlybird. You can never never NEVER go wrong with a nice bottle of Macallan.
