The Human Target...Fox 1/17/10 - Page 2

Just now got around to watching the pilot episode. It was enjoyable at times and the action was well-staged, but Valley seems a bit wooden, since his role looks to be more serious than comic. I was a fan of Keen Eddie and actually liked his work as John Scott on Fringe. And Jackie Earle Haley and Chi McBride are always good, too. Here's hoping this show finds it's footing after a few episodes, because I plan to keep tuning in.

Another...Awesome episode of...The Human Target! With it's Russian Embassy setting, and trouble afoot, it is like...The Cold War never ended. I recommend everyone to take a...Chance, and watch this series.
I laughed my ass off at the scene after the car chase/crash where the good guys were trying to climb the wall, and the Russian guards who were in pursuit climb out of their crashed cars and stand there many yards away firing their machine guns (with scopes) at the good guys who are sitting on the wall, and are unable to hit them. Don't, you know, run after the unarmed people you're chasing. Just stand beside your wrecked cars and unsuccessfully fire at them with scoped machine guns.

Wow.
Turned it off 20 minutes in. No regrets.
Yeah, Jesus. I can handle some dumb fun once a week, but there were moments last night that were super hard to swallow.

That being said, I still enjoy Valley and his crew so until it becomes, say, XXX, I can continue to watch.

mediumdave, I think the creators of the show are going for action adventure, and not attempting to be realistic. The Human Target is much closer to...The A-Team, than...The Unit. I am glad that...The Human Target is first and formost an...action series. If I want to watch something realistic, I will watch a...Documentary.
the comic relief was done pretty well this episode. but everythigng else was just not very good.

motorcycle accidents hurt.
russian soldiers have better aim.
and somehow, with 44 minutes, it goes by so fast you feel there was hardly any backstory. the show could stand to be more immersive and still be an action comedy.

one thing i did love though was the $40 prostitute gag. Chance's first instinct regarding the FBI agent was the polar opposite of reality, and extremely offensive on to boot. played well. but that's about it.
I rather enjoyed last night's episode, purely from an escapist mindset. It had a few good zingers and even though Chance's motorcycle jump and a few other action beats "jumped the shark," it was an improvement over the very stupid airplane episode. I also noticed Kevin Hook's name in the credits as an executive producer on the airplane episode. Turns out he also directed an upcoming episode where the plot involves the protection of a district attorney, which should air in the next couple of weeks. If his name rings a bell, that's because this veteran TV director brought us three cheesy action films in the 90s: Passenger 57, Fled and Black Dog (the latter two which were filmed in or near my hometown outside Atlanta).

The female flight attendant was played by Courtney Ford, who had a central supporting role in the most recent season of Dexter. In real life, she's married to Brandon Routh of Superman Returns fame, who recently popped up in a supporting role on the new season of Chuck.
Superman is married to Trinity's crazy daughter? Crazy.

Anyway, I'm with dave. I like Chance's crew and I think the fight choreography is pretty good but that's all that's keeping me interested in the show.
I Love Chi but he seems really wasted with the mother hen role. I probably just want him to be Cod again. The only one I've really liked so far is the pilot, but this episode was OK.
Yeah, the fight choreography is pretty much the only thing that's keeping me interested too. I didn't catch the airplane episode, did it have any good fights?

Gobblox, Yes...Chance vs the conflicted stewardess, who fought him in the luggage bay of the plane, which ended with her flying out of the plane...sans parachute. Chi vs her partner. Chance flipping the plane upside down, to put out the fire, was cool too.
Decent episode, but I wish they would work on the fight scenes a bit more. The "dancing" scene when the FBI agent caught him was fun, but the motorcycle smashing into a car was stupid. And Haley's character is grating. He was fun, and interesting, in the pilot, with the whole "I will sneak in and kill you in your sleep" speech. Now he just says dude a ton and is all around annoying.

I loved when, Guerrero was laughing at the concept, of his buddy Winston as a...flight attendant.
This is a Saturday/Sunday afternoon syndication show that somehow got talented actors and a (slightly) bigger budget. That's not to say it isn't entertaining on a few levels, but I'm not gonna waste my time trying to watch it every week. The actors deserve better, so hopefully the show steps up at some point or dies quickly so they can move on.
I would rather it finds a nice rhythm than dies quick. Poor Emerson Cod can't take another quick cancel, and this is the first thing Mark Valley has had going since Keen Eddie.

The Human Target is budgeted at...$2.5 an episode. I hope that there is a...2nd season, as it is the only...80's type action series on tv.

Another...On Target ep, but, unfortunately another time slot...8pm wednesday.
There's really nothing else on at that time that I watch, Human Target should stay in this slot. Nice Wilhelm scream from the first guy that gets knocked out of the cable car.
Show's serviceable. But that's it. It's like a slightly more serious Chuck. Nothing great going on and the "client of the week" mode needs to change to a more overarching story if it will grip my attention.

Also, the theme song is good, but it just does not match the opening credits and those graphics.

Tati, The client of the week worked well for action classics like...The A-Team, The Fall Guy, and others. I love the idea, that there is no huge arc, that each episode is only tied by Winstons concern for his friends dangerous lifestyle. I hope that Fox, keeps...The Human Target at 8pm though.
God, Jackie Earl Haley was born to play pedos and nutbags. Just look at that mug.

I think the overarching story is Chance's true identity; they really need to shed more light on that and stray away from the "client of the week" like you suggested.

However, how great was it that one of the main "heroes" of the show shot that guy in the back? It's great that they moved Guerrero from suspected, playful bad-ass to cold-blooded killer, actual bad-ass.
This was probably my favorite one so far. A nice caper and just the beginnings of what could be a season or series arc. What did Chance do that was so bad that he himself needs redemption and someone else needs him to pay for? Obviously we are meant to think that he caused Katherine's death or something. I'm intrigued for now.
It was the best episode so far, and still wasn't all that great. Guerrero is the only compelling character on the entire show. Winston is...nothing, really. Chance isn't much better.
So I caught Keen Eddie. Was a great little show, too bad it didn't last. Sienna looked pretty hot then and the chick playing Ms. Moneypenny was pretty smoking too.

I like this show too. The quick little fights through in here and there are pretty well done. I don't know that it's going to find an audience, but I hope it sticks around for a little while.

Another...On Target episode! Chance vs corrupt cops! I wish there were more series as good as...The Human Target. Action, humor, attractive female guest stars, this show has it all.
Well, for me, this just keeps getting better and better. I liked the story this week. Good fight scenes, and Chance doesn't like to leave loose ends.

ETA Agree Fleed!
Finally got around to catching the first few eps. There's a few minor niggles, but Jesus CHRIST! This is great fun! The fight scenes, in particular, are really well done. And that's one of the best title sequences I've seen in a while, too . . .
Tonight's ep was by far the best since the pilot. And feels like it was maybe intended to be the 2nd or 3rd aired, what with JEH not quite working fully with them yet.

It's stupid and ridiculous and implausible...but damn. I find it enjoyable, especially when it makes a tiny bit more sense like tonight's episode. And most of that is how much of a super badass Valley is. And he sells cocksure badass really, really well. I like to imagine he's still Eddie after joining British badasses, going undercover, experiencing some sort of life changing trauma, then moving to San Fran and becoming a freelance badass.

What I'm saying is I miss Keen Eddie and am going to go pull out my DVDs now. That was a really solid show.
Meh. I wasn't that impressed. I keep telling myself to stop DVR'ing the show, but I haven't stopped it yet.
Did my DVR skip an episode? I had the hot FBI agent in red dress episode, then a teaser for a monastery-set episode, but the net ep on my DVR was the blonde DA being hunted by the mob and crooked cops. Did I skip one?
Must have. I thought one of the episodes was on a different day so that may have mess you up.
But my shit is set on a season pass. What the f.
If I read you correctly, you missed the monestary episode? It's probably still on Hulu right now.

Chance...DIEs HARDer, to rescue a tech geek, in a 99% secure building, that makes a...MISSION IMPOSSIBLE, look like a walk in the park. Awesome ep. Chance's next mission is even tougher, A...3 Week Vacation, as The Human Target returns...March 10th.

Watched this for the first time tonight, not too bad.

Nice Fleed Well, for me, this just keeps getting better and better. I think I've said that before. Nice to see Marshall again! That dude is certainly typecast, as I think he had a similiar role in Chuck. A little more background on Chance (very little), but hey they probably gotta stretch it until the finale. Looks like Guerrero has known Chance longer than um, dammit can't think of McBride's character name.

I knew from scene one that hot little girl geek was gonna get it on with hot little dude geek.

Teitr Styrr, Winston is the one that took a...Chance on our hero. The...Geekiest ending yet, computes very...TECHnically nice.
Wait, what? Why didn't Chance put the harness and parachute on before the window blew? That way they can jump out immediately instead of wasting time and getting shot at.
Because he got to the target while the opening credits were still rolling.

Fleed! Where are you! I need some puns to respond to...

ETA: Well hmph, ok Fleed, take your time. Anyways, another action packed episode in the jungle this time. I liked the girl. She was suitably tough and sexy, and I really liked the scar on her lip. There were alot of HITG people. Shut up, Doug. Oh, and I liked Doug. Everytime they said his name I thought of Dug from "Up".

I really got a kick out of Winston and Guerreuo in the plane when they thought they were gonna die. "Just for the record dude, I think you could've handled that better."

Teitr Styrr, I was on another planet...Jupiter, in a state known as Florida. Lenor Varela's rebel leader found by...Chance, that our hero is not the...MARION kind, after he left her. If she returns maybe, Karen Allen could play her mother or something. I loved that last minute escape.
Loved the episode and hope Autumn Reeser sticks around. JEH plays Guerrero so well. He makes me wonder if Baptiste said yes he would have helped him out.

Shame he was on Boston Legal so long.

Another...On Target episode, as our hero takes a...Chance, and tries to convince an FBI agent who also once fought...Evil Residents, to go on a date.
Not that it's such an original idea to begin with, but this show is a lot like a less trashy Burn Notice. (read: less boobs and gimmicks every week.) Human Target plays on a slightly bigger canvas which makes sense cause of them big network dollars you're seeing in action. Still, fun show. Doesn't seem as tied down to a formula and the characters aren't as 2D, although that could just be me projecting or better acting.
I hope agent Hottie McHotterson and Nerdglasses O'Cutie become permanent characters on the show. Chi McBride is hot and all but this is a show that's not above needing some eye candy.

stelios, The Human Target, has cast several attractive actresses as guest stars. Instead of villain of the week, each ep, is more of a...Hot Babe of the week. Emmanuelle Vaugier is the first one that appeared more than once. With all the shoot outs, car chases, hot babes, The Human Target, has more eye candy than a chain of Ice Cream Shoppes.
