I second Ke$ha. Must be the worst celebration of drunk teenage girls losing dignity ever. And how do you pronounce that? Kedollarsha?

Speaking Beyonce, I nominate the spine breaking "Halo". Does Wayne Grady need to choke a bitch? Possibly.

Whaaat? You crazy, man. Crazy.

When I saw the words "worst" and "songs", I knew it was my duty to submit "N-Dubz"* and their offensively poor track "I Need You" for Sewer consideration. Because Facebook just isn't enough to stalk that girl you fancied the previous night for some.

* I can't bring myself to type that without a 66, 99.

Just because you've had to listen to a song a lot does not make it automatically bad.
The Ke$ha is pretty terrible. But it always amuses me when people show how much of an old fart they are by getting all semantical about musicians names. Of course it’s supposed to be pronounced Kesha, she just put a dollar sign there for effect.

One of my university colleagues has ‘discovered’ Let the Bodies Hit the Floor by Drowning Pool and keeps putting it on the jukebox in the bar. God I’ve come to loathe that song.

Be honest, Spike. You're posting from 2001, aren't you?
When he was talking about it, all excited and into the music, all I could think was “have you not seen a single movie trailer this decade?”. Then I realized he’s five years younger than me and probably wasn’t even aware of trailers until Drowning Pool stopped being trailer music du jour.

Back on topic N-Dubz are truly terrible and I usually have a high tolerance for British pseudo-R and B but those guys are just aggressively awful. I’m a bit late on this but I find I love College by Asher Roth to be equally as awful as Tick Tock
post #110 of 121
If I had to make a list of the worst songs ever written, I would put I Love College above Prussian Blue but just below Deutchland Uber Allies.

What's the German National Anthem ever done to you?*

*Because it's not the Nazi Party anthem, it was created during the Weimar Republic.

You know what I mean, Captain Correction.

That’s the problem with the Nazi’s they stole so much stuff from other sources or used existing iconography that they’re kind of intrinsically tied into German as a nation. It’s a real shame because they’ve done real metaphysical damage to Wagner, the Reichsadler (the eagle of Germany which had been a national emblem since the Holy Roman Empire) and Swastika’s in general despite these things having existed in isolation before.

Aside from Bad Romance, which is utterly awesome, I’m still not sure I like Lady Gaga. A lot of her songs, despite the over production, sound quite anemic considering she’s channelling a lot of dance stuff and visually I just don’t get it.
As a perfomer Lady Gaga is really growing on me, having seen some of her live stuff she has one hell of a voice.

The worst song of the decade is the JedWard Ice Ice Baby/Under pressure mix they released recently.
Who the hell are Jedward?

Although mixing Ice Ice Baby and Under Pressure is cute.

Wagner deserves what he got in terms of metaphysical damage.

John and Edward Grimes - another reason the X-Factor is the cause of humanities downfall.

Here is an example of one of thier perfomances ...

Yeah, he's up there with Martin Luther in the 'what a douchebag' stakes. I should have stated Wagner's music, but you get the idea.

It's one of the odd things about Germany, they've been riding a nice little wave of anti-semitism since the First Crusades (along with most of Europe) but they're the one nation who really kept at it.

Clearly you've never seen my post-coital "Fuck Touchdown" dance.

And yeah, that Ke$ha song is terrible, but I feel like I'm just wasting good, pure hate on it by harping on it whenever she's mentioned because it's an easy thing to dislike.

To expand on Ryan's post...

Wagner's reputation for anti-semitism may have gotten some visibility due to Hitler's preference for him, but it's a chicken-or-the-egg proposition. Do we think of Wagner as a huge anti-semite because Hitler like Wagner, or did Hitler like Wagner, at least in part, because Wagner was a huge anti-semite?

Either way, I currently have in my fingers the world's tiniest violin playing "Ride of the Valkyries" for the "metaphysical damage" that the Nazis perpetrated on Wagner's image.

I'm beyond glad you said that. Aside from yourself and two other discerning music-types, people in my sphere seem to like (or, at least, just not mind) them. Admittedly, my tolerance of that strain of British music is almost non-existent, but groups rarely rub me up the wrong way as much as they have. They, honestly, are like something out of a rubbish sketch on BBC 3 at 2 in the morning.

It fills me with hope that you were unfamiliar with "Jedward" until today. Unfortunately, most of the ones I work with (and the kind of magazines they leave lying around) put paid to any such chance I had of the same blissful obliviousness some time ago.

It could be my comparatively limited exposure to the track/girl, but Ke$ha doesn't bother me nearly as much as Gaga (not prefacing that with "lady.") I can see where folks can get into that kind of thing, but are people really that easily distracted by shiny things and k-ra-zy attire?
