Mega Man 10

Continuing my two-thread streak of announcing new old-school Mega Man games!

Coming 2010 to WiiWare (at least):

All for it. While MM9 wasn't quite up there with MM2 and 3, it was close enough for me. I also beat it, which was apparently a minor accomplishment so I guess these are the only "difficult" games I'm able to complete these days.

I am reading about the new Mega Man and looking at new screens in a new Nintendo Power. It's like a super nerdy acid flashback. Anyway, MM9 was way too tough for me. Throw in an easy mode for big blubbering pussies like me and I'm sold.

There's an Easy Mode. (Seriously.)

Ha.. I didn't even think about the nostalgia trip. I should pick up this issue of Nintendo Power and spend three hours memorizing it back to front for old times' sake.

I loved MM9. It was a ballbreaker, but I really enjoyed it. MM10 is an easy purchase, especially if it mimics the NES games like 9 did (with a few new tricks, of course).

There's actually an easy mode? That nearly justifies dusting off the Wii.

There will be in Mega Man 10, I mean. Not in Mega Man 9. Oh heavens no, not in Mega Man 9.
I still haven't beaten 9. I should probably jump on that shit.
Still havent beaten 9...yes, i will get 10.
Capcom's a harsh mistress.
I could only beat one stage in that goddamn game. One stage.
Really? I remember it being tough, but after a week, I could beat the game in a few hours.

Well I suppose that's why you have a Mega Man avatar and I don't. I'll continue to wear my victory over Galaxy Man with pride.

*looks up*

Oh yeah. My bad.

Oh lord, that's not going to be safe to Google Image Search for for much longer.

Sheep Man vs Goatse: T-minus 72 hours.

This thing is already out for WiiWare North America.

No DLC this time, right?

I'll be all over this if it's not like 9 in that respect. From what I've read, the extra stuff you paid for with 9 is all in there from the get-go. Not sure if there are other extras though.

There's still DLC. Bass as a playable character, Endless Mode and three special stages are all DLC. Time Attack and over 80 Challenge Stages (think mini-challenges like the ones in Bionic Commando Rearmed) are included in the regular game.

I can't tell if it's significantly better or worse yet, I'm guessing if you liked MM9 there's nothing not to love here. The graphics have "advanced" about a year in NES time, the stage gimmicks are pretty clever, and it's still ball-bustingly difficult.

I haven't tried it (I have pride, you know) but I hear Easy Mode practically plays itself.

So it's available for Xbox 360. I'll probably get this, Mega Man 2 is still one of my favorite all-time games (great, great, great soundtrack). How are the controls with an Xbox controller?
Despite loving the 360 controller, I hate the dpad. I'm not sure I could stick with it on there, personally.

Sucks there's still DLC. I know I don't have to buy it, but it's a little shifty paying, what, 20 bucks for what's basically an 8-bit game in 2010.

20$! Fuck that! Also, fuck the dpad.

No I'm relatively certain it's $10(I'm sure it is on Wii). But I think with all the downloadable extras that 9 ended up coming to 20 bucks total. For many people, they wouldn't be worth it anyway. Sorry I wasn't more clear.

10 bucks is a pretty good deal for a new, well thought-out Mega Man in the old style. I just don't see it being worth a cent more than that, especially when the classics like 2 and 3 are cheaper(or free for the ROM folks).

Thanks to all of you pussies who complained about how difficult Mega Man 9 was. Way easier than the last one. Levels are mediocre and while Sheep Man's weapon was interesting, they are running out of ways to get a flame, a bomb, a rotating shield and a lame ass seeker weapon shoehorned into the game.
