Trying to clean out some malware shit.

So I have this malware with it's finger up my ass right now. It seems to be called internet security 2010. It comes up, tells me my cpu is full of viruses, like hundreds, than connects me to their website to enter my CC info for purchase.

I am running Norton as a matter or course, which isn't picking anything up. It isn't even allowing me to run or install malware malbytes. Spybot finds the shit, says it cleans some of it up and needs to reboot to finish. When it reboots the shit comes back and spybot finds it and more again.

What are you guys using to clean this shit up? I'd like to try something else before I format the damn drive to clean this shit up.

I did a quick search, is this what you're talking about? Hope it helps.

Having a bitch of a time with a google redirect virus myself. Blech.

Thanks. I'm having that redirect bullshit too.

I had the same problem a while ago. What I ended up doing was going to the Geeks to Go forum, the person helped me out step by step with the cleaning and in a couple of days my computer was back to normal and better protected.

This is a determined bastard. I tried the first suggestion, but I can't get that to clear it up. I tried some ideas on that forum to no luck. I'll have to register and post my problems to see if I can get it fixed.

So I fixed this problem by doing a system restore to an earlier working point.

The problem now is that I can't connect to the internet. It works fine and I can connect in safe mode, but not a standard windows boot. I don't see any errors on the driver list in the device manager, and I can't figure out what is running different in the safe mode.

Man, you fix one thing and something else shits the bed.

It was norton this time. Hanging up the driver install somehow. Did a fresh install and it seems to be working now.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
