I thought the title said rum. I was disappointed.

I for one welcome our coconut harvesting overlords.

No jokes here. That's completely fascinating.

Okay, just one:

"She puts de lime in da coconut and drank'em both up,
puts de lime in da coconu...
OH, OH MY GOD, WHAT IS THAT?!?
GET IT OFF ME, GET IT OFF ME!"

Okay, that was creepy until it flipped the top half over itself then it became awesme.

I love that it hugged the camera at the end.

I had the Zoidberg 'WHOOP WHOOP WHOOP' in my head as it started running with the coconut.

Joking aside, I thought it was pretty common knowledge just how fucking smart octopi are. I remember people that went fishing telling me lots of similar stories about them.

This is 2 years old, but still pretty damn cute:

The octopus who loves his Mr Potato Head.

So this is what it feels like when the old guard see some promising young wippersnapper who will eventually take their job?

Fellow humans, I think maybe we know who is going to be running this planet in a few million years, the Thermians....

That cephalopod was obviously raised by bi-valves.

"Walk like a Clam..."

If octopuses and ants learn to communicate to each other, humanity is doomed.

No jokes here. My son (a biologist) and I were recently discussing just how scary smart these critters are. Their ability to think through complex problems illustrates our extremely superficial understanding of animal intelligence, particularly non-mammalian creatures.

Of course they might underestimate us too, given how idiotic we look underwater...

I kept hearing Curly from the Three Stooges "Whoobooboobooboob"

Aaw great, first it's stealing coconuts and pretty soon they're flaying your mind. I hated those damn things in D&D.

Great. So not only are they a hell of a lot smarter than us, but they have more limbs. Once they take over, we're screwed!

Seriously though, that filmclip was amazing.

Just imagine the poor guy scouring hours/days/weeks of tapes of the sea floor just waiting for something to happen. Maybe he sees a few crabs fighting every now and then, or a cool looking shell. And then bam: An octopus coconut heist.

I posted this on the spider cricket thread, but what the hell...

4th entry: Meet the Argonaut, the only creature who can launch his dick.

Question: does it return to the argonaut when its business is done? Like a sexy boomerang of some sort?

I have no idea...part of me fears that it just keeps going, until he's fucked every single being in the ocean.

Holy Crap. The elephant clip. It's enormous penis appears to "sniff" around like a trunk, looking for the sweet spot.
