Just saw Ginger Snaps

I'd like to thank everyone who mentioned and/or talked about Ginger Snaps on this forum. Without your recommendation I would've dismissed this movie as another straight-to-video B film. Very creative.

Two questions though:

Why did nobody notice a dead dog in the middle of the lacrosse field (the one 'B' tripped over)?

At the park, before Ginger was attacked, the sisters found another dead dog. Why weren't they surprised/shocked/scared? And why did they try to pick it up?

No one noticed the dead dog because, well, it was convient for the plot for them not to. And they weren't surprised/shocked when they found the other one because it'd been happening all over town for a while.

Glad you dug it, though, and I'm glad you got in on the recomendation of the good people on these here boards. Gives me a warm feeling in my tummy.

hopefully the next movies will make the first ones' ending less horrible

speaking of horrible, I could go for a french fry po-boy with cheese and roast beef gravy

I've never understood why some don't like the ending to GS. Could someone please explain? I thought the final image of the movie was very powerful, definately one of my fav. endings.

I gotta agree with the above,I had no problems with Ginger Snaps at all, much less the ending. And that's kind of suprising because it was a very "hyped" movie around the Creature Corner last year and sometimes you get high expectations and then the movie lets you down. I high expectations and the film lived up to them!
Is it the Gingerwolf people have a problem with or something? I thought the ending was on the same level as the rest of the flick.

Is it perhaps because it ends like oh-so-many werewolf movies? That because the rest of the film was so inventive having an ending not unlike other wereolf movies ruined it? If that's the case, well sheesh.

I, too, almost missed out on this movie. I didn't even know it existed and, had it not been for some people on message boards I trusted mentioning it, I probably never would have. It's easily one of my favorite werewolf movies ever, and one of the best horrors in recent memory. Love the fresh, original dialogue, the acting of the two leads, the music, etc. I had no problem with the ending, despite a somewhat fake-looking wolf in the close-ups. Also, the above-mentioned dog-on-the-lacrosse-field scene was one of the only things I would've changed. It just wasn't realistic that they wouldn't see this when they've been playing for a while.

Otherwise, a real gem, IMO. As refreshing as AWIL, but from a female perspective and updated for our times. I hope to see more from all the talented folks that were involved in this.

I and most of my people love the movie to death, but absolutely abhor the last fifteen minutes of the film. The actual last two or three minutes is good, but the whole going back to the house, the werewolf pursuit, the drinking of the blood, and the death of Sam and all that is just so fucking dull after the first time you've seen it. .
Ahh.. well, I've only seen it once.. perhaps this is why I remember it fondly.

I have to admit, the last 15 minutes are not my favorite part of the movie either. I love the very last scene but Ginger chasing Bridgette through that huge maze of a basement really wasn't that impressive. When you think about it it makes sense though. The way the movie was building up it was only natural that there would have to be mindless violence at the end but it was still disappointing. I don't understand why anyone would have a problem with the very last scene though. It was just kind of natural and right for the movie to end that way, it was a tragedy.
