Love the money tease ending. Showcasing RDJ is wise.
Not the greatest trailer in the world, but I liked the team-up shots at the end.
That War Machine armor makes Iron Man look like a pussy.
Best shot has to be the way he enters the Stark Expo.
I love the the teen tiny shot of Sam Rockwell with his arms spread out. Don't know why but I just thought it looked cool.
Pepper kissing the helmet is a huge tease . . . what a bitch.
The War Machine sequence in the trailer seems to confirm this is more or less a Armor Wars adaptation,
post #8 of 159
Is he wearing a different suit in that last shot? I see a glowing triangle on his chest.
Rourke's character looked well above average for these type of movies. His whip weapon, less so.
lol the Iron Man dancers.
I hope they make it to the Armor Wars.

Definitely the Granov-inspired design at the end there.

Awesome trailer, and it comes out just in time for my birthday, too! Happy Feet!
Loved it. The lighter stuff has that same breezy tone as the first, and the action bits look better than the first (although I agree that the whip weapon just looked ok).

Plastic surgery was not kind to Garry Shandling.

Yeah, well... it opens in the UK on April 30. A whole week before North America! Eat that!

Seriously, that looked awesome. And leaves me thanking the Movie Gods that Tom Cruise never made his version of Tony Stark.
I like everything but the VERY unfinished effects. I'm sure they'll all look great by the time it comes out. RDJ's Tony Stark moments are the highlight of course.
The trailer is really great. There's a lot of robots in that fight. Tony, you should take care of that issue on your chest.
The Iron Man/War Machine team-up at the end gave me a nerdgasm. Wish we could have seen more of Cheadle and Rockwell, but Downey kills and the action looks so much better already. As a teaser, I guess it works really well. I want more now.
I loved all the...Heavy Metal Mayhem, of Iron Man and War Machine vs numerous armored bad guys. Don Cheadle is clearly a step above...Terrence Howard as well. Pepper tossing IM's helmet out of the plan, and playfully telling him to...Go Get Them boss, was...Awesome!

Am I the only one who had trouble getting the video to appear? The page would just refresh when I tried clicking "watch trailer". I get that the site's getting a lot of traffic, but I think it has more to do with Apple once again punishing me for having a PC and daring to run their shit software.

Oh, and the trailer was cool.
No, you aren't. I still haven't gotten it to play yet.
Did we really have any doubt that this was gonna rock? No? Good. This trailer reaffirms that.
Took a few refreshs to get the video to work for me but once I did, I was really impressed.
Its cool to see seeing the reprecussions of him announcing to the world that he's Iron Man (one of the most original Comicbook movie plotlines in years) and am more sold on Whiplash as an enemy thanI was before (though he needs to get his Mark 2 asap for the battles to have much tension).

Loved the final shot of Iron Man and War Machine fighting side by side, really excited to see that the quality of the action sequences are being upped.
And as ever, it's seeing RDJ do his thing that made me smile the most in the trailer. Just too perfect. And the other stuff was cool too. Bring on Iron 2 Man!
Since I can only look at the stills for now, am I correct in thinking that the multiple armored opponents that Stark & Rhodey are facing look very Crimson Dynamo-ish?
Wow, that was atrociously edited
Still looked great though. More fun in store. Can't wait to see what the Stark Industries-Whiplash ala Rourke connection is.
Underwhelming, but looks fun. The FX, however, don't look so hot, especially the IM and War Machine shots at the end.

Uh oh! Is that gonna be the IM2's version of the "Iron Man walks badassedly away from exploding tank" shot from IM1? Remember all that pissing and moaning about the quality of that shot prior to release (which ended up looking pretty fantastic)?

Ohhhhh memories! Hahahaha.
Anyone have a direct link to the HD version(s)? My various attempts are getting nowhere.

Wasn't all the pissing and moaning part of the reason why it wound up looking fantastic? I remember reading something about how Favreau used the negative reactions to convince people to tweak the shot.

Yeah, I remember when that shot debuted on the Superbowl TV spot and I honestly thought it was a scene from the videogame that had been put in there by accident. Fast Forward 3-4 months and it looked about as perfect as you could ask for . . .

I hope it is, and I expect ILM will polish it up in time for the release. FX shots in trailers are almost NEVER final, but come on, it's ILM...(meaning: I expected better) And I'm not pissing and moaning, just stating a fact. It's not going to affect my desire to see the movie.
Let's not forget that they have another five months to finish the FX. That's plenty of time.
I love the Stark attitude on display here. And Rourke's accent ain't too bad for "movie Russkie". Fun.
That looked more fun than a chocolate covered christmas. Awesome.

Oh really? I never heard that.

The glowing chests make them look like Stark technology knock-offs. The Senate hearing scene from the ComiCon footage makes me think we'll see Tony fighting to keep his IP out of unscrupulous hands in a quick nod to the "Armor Wars" storyline.
It looks like it's Whiplash who recreates the chest piece. Which kind of hurts my theory that Hammer uses the access he gets to the Mark II in the talked about but not in the trailer 'All of them' gun buying scene to figure out enough about the chest pieces to start manufacturing them himself, and then gives one to Whiplash to take Stark out of the picture.

I also remember reading that ILM didn't even work on that shot in the superbowl spot. They Worked on it later and fixed it. So people shouldn't assume that ILM has worked on every effects shot in that trailer.
It was good, not chills down my spine awesome when the TDK teaser trailer was first seen, but it looks like it'll be at least decent.
I get the sense that they are cherry picking from a lot of the great Iron Man stories- Armor Wars, Extremis, and even the really recent Five Nightmares. If they can weave it all together well, it should be great.
Well, I guess we have an answer to "how's Whiplash expect to stand up to Tony Stark with no armor?" He goes after him when he's not in the armor. Which is a pretty convincing argument for not giving away your secret identity.

...Uh, except I guess it's Tony Stark he hates, not Iron Man. Except if he didn't know they were the same then he wouldn't know to build a crazy super-weapon...let's move on.

BTW, people seem to be saying the character is more like Crimson Dynamo, but one thing that occurred to me: Whiplash was a mafia enforcer in the comics, so is it possible he's in with the Russian mafia in this movie?
I don't know shit about Iron Man comics, but it sounds like Rourke is basically just playing Crimson Dynamo with a whip, yes?
What is the deal with Mickey Rourke and his hair? It's like every movie he's got to have something going on with his tresses.

The trailer doesn't give me a slow roasted boner like the first IRON MAN trailer but I'm sure IRON 2 MAN will follow the superhero franchise rule and be an improvement.
Very cool. My only concern - Whiplash, Hammer, Widow, War Machine, Fury - too crowded? But after the first the team has my trust and I can't wait.

Hope Rorke doesn't have sleep issues then...

Loved it, looks great, and its ending is one hell of a tease.
The kiss and "You complete me!" was the highlight for me.

In terms of structuring, it's not that different from the original. Whiplash is the secondary villain rather than the Ten Rings, Fury is standing in for the SHIELD agent, War Machine is just letting Rhodey participate in action sequences, and Hammer replaces Stane. The only way the story is more packed is adding Widow, which might just be a way of making the Potts-Stark-every other woman in the world love triangle from the first more integral to the main story.

This promises a great Iron Man movie. Ticket sold!

He shot his The Expendables scenes while shooting this, so he has the exact same hair in both movies, which is gonna be kinda nutty to see.

Anyways, trailer looks great! And, for fuck's sake people, isn't it pretty damn obvious Rourke is gonna upgrade his armor? Quit bitching about "how can he fight Iron Man like that"... haven't you ever, I dunno, seen a movie before? Of course he's gonna get better armor! You can see it coming from a mile away, for Chrissake's!

Instead of "that armor doesn't look practical", the comments should be "boy, I can't wait to see the upgrade HE'S OBVIOUSLY GOING TO GET IN THE THIRD ACT".
