Man, we got gypped, with just the stupid moon. Thanks a lot, God.
Yeah, of all the amazing celestial bodies out there, we get a boring-ass grey moon. Bummer.

Thanks for that link, ryoken, that was pretty cool.

But what if Earth was a giant alligator?
Give 'em a moon, they want rings. Give 'em rings, they want a moon. Fucking humans.

wouldn't the presence of rings present an unsafe condition for satellites?
You're one of those people who shouts "But there's no sound in space!" during Star Wars, aren't you?
I'll only accept the presence of a cockring around the Earth.

Who needs satellites when your skies look that awesome?

This would really screw up the day/nighttime cycle in some parts of the world.

Yeah, but probably just the poor parts.
The other parts will probably enjoy much warmer weather from all the reflection caused by the rings.
Someone mentioned that in the comments on YouTube. You'd have a swath near the equator in near-perpetual shadow while areas nearer the poles would get huge amounts of reflected light.

Yeah. I can be a buzz kill sometimes.

I read a book once about this very issue. In the book, something hit the moon and the debris coalesced into a ring. The ring caused tidal shifts and killed crops (blocking out the sun)

You're inside a giant worm, the worm is in the vacuum of space, he has his mouth open, you cant just walk outside with a cheap drop-down airplane style oxygen mask, Richard, you just can't.
