R.I.P. Paul "The Hellboy" Prischman

It appears he lost his brave and long fight with cancer. Horrible. A dad of two young kids, a husband, and a man who was only 42 years old.

A really cool cat and a talented man. Fucking puts stuff in perspective. All kidding aside, this sucks and it's a shame.

Sucks. I remember that cat from my early years here on the boards, and he always seemed to be a nice guy. I also remember when his cancer first came to light, and the outpouring of emotion over it. I never really knew the guy, but it's still sad to hear that he lost the fight.

Incredibly sorry to hear this. The huge outpouring of support with his "Brain Trust" last year was remarkable to see- the guy was loved by tons of people. I don't know if you know his family, Nick, but please pass on our sympathies.

I don't. I mean, Facebook friends, and I think I got a note when I donated for the Brain Trust, but Paul was my contact.

Paul was a pretty cool guy who was kind enough to share some stories of working with Harrison on the Blade Runner DVD set with me in PM's.

For a man who had a full plate with his work and family and yet took time to just chat with me meant a lot. Always enjoyed his contributions to the forums over the years.

That's terrible news. I'm really sorry to hear that. My best to his family, wherever they are.

Awful. He was a super guy.

He was nice enough to give me a heads up when the BLACK RAIN Special Edition was being prepared. Really appreciated that. He didn't work on it himself but obviously knew a lot of the folks who did.

Was hoping the lack of info regarding his condition was a "no news is good news" situation. Very sad to hear this tonight.

That's fucking ass.

The dude was a cool cat here on these boards and Devin's old board. That's terrible news man.

Quite a while I was wondering what had happened to him. I went to the Blade Runner screening, still have the spinner keychain on my keys. Couldn't find any updates on him at the time. Definitely a sad loss.
He's e-mailed me back and forth a few times when I wrote something. He will be missed.
Honest to god shame. He was a really nice and talented guy, and he'll be missed.
Oh fuck. I actually wondered how he was doing a couple weeks ago.

Sad news. Not unexpected, as it's a fucking brain cancer, but still.
That sucks. I was just thinking about him a few weeks ago, as well, wondering what ever happened. At least he got the chance to do work that is enjoyed by so many people--the DVDs he worked on are legendary, and set the bar for what special features should be. He'll be missed.

Paul was a great guy. Funny as hell. A terrible loss. I hope for the best for his family.

Such a terrible shame.
Really enjoyed his time spent here on CHUD, applauded him for his later efforts. Damn shame.
beyond sad.
I attended his charity screening last year. Truly a fucking shame.

Didn't know him, but looking at his profile I see he was a mellow, friendly, knowledgeable presence on the boards. My condolences to those of you who were friendly with him.
Such sad, sad news. I remember when I met Paul, he immediately pulled out his cell phone and started showing me pictures of his girls. Such a proud Papa. My heart goes out to the girls and his entire family.
What a horrible thing. I didn't know him very well on the boards, but still, it's always a sad thing to lose someone so young. My heart goes out to his family.
I always enjoyed his posts, and as Phil indicated, he seemed to be a genuinely nice guy. 42 is just way too goddamn young. Fuck cancer. Condolences to his family and friends.
Will there be any sort of extention of the Brian Trust or any other way to send help to the family?
Jay, there's going to be a thing in LA for him in a couple of weeks. Paul went home to Chicago for his final months, and that's where he passed, and with the holidays many of his friends simply can't get to Chicago for the funeral (which is next Saturday). I have an address for the family, which is where I assume flowers can be sent. I'll PM it to you.
I appreciated his contributions to film and DVD discussion here very much, and his general on-forum demeanor spoke well of his character. A very sad thing to see that he suffered this way and I feel for his family.
Well this is a shame. Always admired the guy.
R.I.P. Paul, you will be missed.
I never really talked with him here, but I always enjoyed his contributions. He was one of those posters that was always worth reading.

Very sad.

If any of you folks have the special edition of Cronenberg's The Fly, he was the showrunner on that disc after assisting many of Charles de Lauzirika's home video magnum opuses. RIP

Yes he was. As well as The Fly II, which we (Beaks, Rotten, Dellamorte, The Inspector, and me and maybe one other) recorded a commentary track for that was banished by Fox.
Sad news,

my condolences to his family.
Any chance of setting up some kind of Paypal thingy whereby Chewers can either contribute for flowers or make donations to the family?
I don't know if they're still accepting donations, but you can look here to get a contact link and PayPal information for Paul's Brain Trust.
Sad news, condolences to his family and friends.

Very sad news, I remember him from back in the day on here. My sincerest condolences go out to his family and friends.
