The priest fighting supernatural in the West are where the similarities end. I can see why they changed the original manwha (Korean!), because Legion involves Paul Bettany fighting off angels in the west, and Priest involves Paul Bettany (the main character) battling a fallen angel, his lieutenants and a fuck ton of zombies. All in a steampunk-ish old west with submachine guns. It's actually a fantastic read, a little childish maybe as you say, but underneath all the 'whoa! that shit was awesome!', it's quite mature and at times heartbreaking. Plus, it's violent as fuck, which is always nice.

Re the tattoo idea: in "I Am Legend", although Matheson doesn't directly link it to his "immunity", Robert Neville does have a tattoo of a cross on his chest.
