5 great films from 2009 will be released on DVD/Blu-ray on January 12th:

- In the Loop
- Moon
- The Hurt Locker
- The Brothers Bloom
- Big Fan (just DVD, no Blu-ray)

I know where my Fantasy Football winnings are going!

Yeah, I was at the Landmark last night and was surprised to see the Brother's Bloom there in their little store, yet Amazon shows it coming out on January 12th. Best Buy's website says the same. If anyone has seen the blu-ray anywhere let me know. I'd love to see it for the 3rd time now.

Rian Johnson said on the /Filmcast a while ago that it was available for rent most everywhere in the US. No exclusives. It's been available for purchase in Canada since September though. He also said this might become a more common business model, but I don't know about that beyond what he said.

Apparently In the Loop isn't available in-store at Best Buy (or anywhere else for that matter. What the fuck?), and there's no release day markdown for Moon. Moon wasn't even in the new release section at my local. On the other hand: Steelbook case for Hurt Locker.

Yeah, I found that out too--how the fuck can IN THE LOOP not be in any stores. Checked out 3 Best Buys and 2 other stores, no dice. Oh well, came home and ordered it on Amazon--arriving Thursday and its cheaper than its $2 more--including shipping--than it would have been if I got it at BB w/o the typical markdown.
