A Question About Animation

My buddy and I recently started a YouTube channel. We're looking to expand our content past us just staring at a camera and spouting toilet humor and I was hoping someone could help answer something for me. You see, I'd like to also get into some animation and was wondering: What would be the best software to use, and the best way to learn all the tricks? I'm eager to get started as soon as possible.

Here's a tip: post it in the appropriate section, the Chewer Tech section.

When I saw the tech section I read home theater and thought it wasn't appropriate. If you have time to come in here and be an ass you have time to answer my question.

There's more discussion going on in Chewer Tech than just home theater, which you clearly didn't bother reading any further, or you wouldn't have posted that. Sounds like you saw the one thread and backed out. And there's no need to call Martin an ass just because he pointed out that you're not only in the wrong forum, but that there are plenty of people in the tech section who could probably help you.

My response wasn't because of what he said, it was how he said it. I recognize that I screwed up, and I'm so sorry that I didn't have time to go over every inch of the entire forum structure. I only had time to post one quick question and was hoping someone could help me out.

If I had known people would have reacted like this I wouldn't have bothered. I just thought that someone might know.

EDIT: Thanks, Phil. You're good people. I thought about putting it in the Budding Filmmakers thread but wasn't sure, so I figured if I tried the Catch-All, I could still find someone to help me.

Or there!

Reacted like what? I'm trying to help. I linked you to a conversation in the budding filmmakers thread between people who can likely help you with your question. For real. Good luck!

No, I wasn't talking about you, Phil. I'm grateful for your help; that was a response to earlier posters. Seriously, man, thanks. I'm gonna look this over when I can.

Oh, THEM. Well, Martin's Canadian; he can't help himself. Lisa's the Wicked Witch of CHUD. Meanest broad to stalk the boards. It's her thing.

I taught myself the basics of Flash. I don't think it's exactly the easiest way to go about animating, but it's keyframe-based which can take a whole load of work off your plate if you're willing to give it a try.

It's obviously got plenty of limitations too. Doesn't nooj have a decent animation background?

This, and this. It's stuff like that what keeps Canadians back as a people.

And Phil is da goods, no question.

Disagree with the assessment of Lisa as wicked witch, however. Jest though I know it be.

As for the actual thread topic, I'm lucky I know how to post this message, so I got nothin'.

Oh, you LOVE it, you big weener you!

Plus, my post was only slightly testy. It was actually quite straightforward. I never even called him a jerk-off, which is how you know I'm having an off-night, and it was nothing like that time I ran two guys off the boards in the beheading thread. I'm off of my A-game since I've returned to the forums.
