Fuck Ambien.

Chili Cheese pastrami fries.

Old School Laura Scudders onion dip packages that you dump into a container of sour cream, and then you eat it with any type of potato chip. Cool Ranch Doritos works well here too.

Also, I like the occasional vanilla Zinger and Oreo Cakester.
Of course, there were some foods that I gorged on throughout my teens and my early 20s, that I eventually had to swear off for life. Chewy Chips Ahoy!, Hostess Apple Pies, and honey buns.

I should weigh 300 pounds.

Whoever said 'Chocodiles'. Love.

Also, Little Debbie's 'Nutty Bars'.

For fried local RI food, clam bombs from Anthony's Seafood in Middletown are extraordinary.

I've had to give up most of my past favorite sweets (goddamn you Sour Patch Kids) due to all my teeth getting completely fucking decalcified. Yes, I brush and floss as much as anyone else, my teeth just suck. Anyways, my one sugary indulgence I afford myself is Ben N' Jerry's. The chocolate brownie is godlike. Cherry Garcia is also pretty bangin', but I prefer stuff that I can just slide down the tongue without chewing chunks. And I just tried Dublin Mudslide, holy shit I need to make some liqueur milkshakes with that.
Isn't there an Anthony's in New Port? I used to go to one and it was right on the warf. The food was soooo good. Also, Brick Alley Pub in New Port may well be one of my favorite places anywhere

You walk into any Hostess Bakery Store and buy a box (or two, or three) of them, or individually for .10 a piece.
Not that I have any experience with that.

Hope this helps you swear off hostess, CSB:

When I was 10 or 11 or so, I found a white larva in a Hostess Cupcake.

I've not eaten a Hostess product since.

I used to love Devin's updates about how he was conflicted about eating out all the time.

BUT. IT. WAS. SO. GOOD.

Heh. Dick.

This is true. Now that Costco no longer carriers Mexican Coke, their best soda selection is Henry Weinhard's Root Beer. The actual beer they make is pretty good too.

Not my pic, but Google saved me $1.50 and not barfing in my floorboard.
My Christmas bonus for working at the newspaper was a free coupon for the Big Mac snack wrap. Well, I'm glad it was free, 'cause its not worth the money they charge for it.

I go through phases. I'm having serious chocolate problems right now - chocolate spread, creme eggs, hot chocolate, massive fucking slabs of dairy milk caramel... my health is gonna be fucked.
I can put away a lot of pizza as well, Pizza Hut is my favourite, but so expensive! There's a local takeaway though that does 18inch pizzas for about £12 which are AMAZING, and feed me for breakfast the next day as well.
I also spend probably £6-8 a week at MacDonalds, which I might want to stop given that I have bills to pay and no money left for actual food.

Cleo,

A quick question. My understanding is that Cadbury Creme Eggs come from the UK. In the US, they are only available once a year (usually around the time of Easter, because of the connection with the 'Easter Bunny', an egg laying rabbit that Americans believe delivers candy on that holiday). However, I am curious about two things

1) When you said Creme Eggs, were you talking about Cadbury Creme Eggs?

2) If so, are they available year round in the UK? Or is it also seasonal?

PS I like Pizza Hut Bread Sticks, which are amazing. But the local Pizza Hut closed around here a few years back..
Yep, Cadbury Creme Eggs. I'm pretty sure they're seasonal here, but they seem to be around for a long time some years, so I'm not certain. Gotta admit I don't pay loads of attention.

I have to say, I'm not going to pretend that it looks appetizing, but it also does not look much different than the McDonalds ad. You just took an under lit photo with the taco thing opened up. If you rolled it and took a better looking picture, I'm certain it would resemble the taco in the advertisement much more closely.

He got it from Google, and it really does look like that.

Back when I could still eat junk food (before 2 weeks in the hospital and removal of my gallbladder back in August), my favorite was definitely Bojangles.

This one is the only one I know of:

http://www.anthonysseafood.net/

Best place around to get my NE Clam Chowdah fix. Haven't tried enough places in downtown Newport to see if there are any real competitors, but Johnny's by Easton's Beach is pretty good too.

And yeah, Brick Alley is great. I think one of my friends still works as a waiter there sometimes.

There are no actual "layers" in Taco Bell's Beefy 5-layer burrito. It's just a big glob of stuff in a flour tortilla. It was also alot more beany than beefy.

I usually don't run for the border unless they have a new menu item. This is one I should have skipped.
Ruffles All-Dressed potato chips. For some evil reason, they don't sell 'em here in the States. I get as many bags as I can whenever I'm in Canada, though.

All-Dressed is an incredible flavor. Picture BBQ, sour cream, cheddar, ranch, salt and vinegar, etc all mixed together onto one chip. It's just an explosion of pure awesomeness, and I've come really close to having Martin Savage ship me a crate of 'em.

ALRIGHT WE GET IT ALREADY!

I'm sorry, I'm just angry because by the end of the first page you had me hooked on them and now I'm Stateside again and I want more and can't get them and aggggghhhhh.

I thought it was good, for $.89. I wish they would just keep that volcano taco on the menu. I was addicted.

I had to bike a lot of extra miles because of this. Maybe it's a good thing they got rid of it in the winter.

When it comes to the Nobel Prize, everyone in the world is playing for second place. Everyone except one person, and that person is the genius Mars executive who, when trying to figure out the new M&M, suggested "pretzels".

Nutella.

God dammit, its delicious.
Corned Beef*, Chicken Skin, Dripping on toast with a sprinkle of pepper, Pork Scratchings and the odd bit of Bone Marrow is nice too. I also like to get a slice of bread and wipe it on the pan that a roast has just been cooked in.

A greasy spoon fry-up is king. You gotta have black pudding and those cheap nasty sausages, they're best.

*a Corned beef hash and baked bean sandwich with ketchup and brown sauce is beautiful.

Bought a big pack of Oreos for the first time in years the other day, and I'm slowly working my way through them. Sooo good, and their ingenious resealable bag will keep the things fresh for a long time. That used to be my problem with the old ones from back in the day, it was impossible to keep them fresh for long after opening the bag.

They're good, but they need more chocolate. Flipz chocolate covered pretzels are way better.

Ziploc bags! Always the first thing I did when I opened a new package back in the day...dump them in a ziploc bag.

And people wonder why England gets a bad culinary rep. Beans on a sandwich? Black Pudding? Bone Marrow (now, I've heard of that as finer cuisine, I hate to think what the junk food version is, though...).

A Fry, particularly an Ulster Fry, is mighty hard to beat. I can take or leave the black pudding, but the cheap sausages are definitely a must.

It does my Gall Stones no good at all but you can't beat a sausage and egg Mcmuffin from MacDonalds. Mind you I drop the egg and replace it with a hash brown.

You know, I've never tried that. Looks like I know what I'm doing tomorrow morning.

Dog Food. It goes down a treat.

I tell ya, you soon know who your real friends are when you ask for their bone marrow and they say no but yeah, your right about it being a finer cuisine, it's made a resurgence of sorts in posher restaurants. You watch they'll soon be serving Corned Beef Tartatre with a bed of chicken skin before you know it.

It's not junk food but did anyone use to get a dob of butter and dip it in a bowl of sugar when they were little. I still do that sometimes.

My older brother raves about them. I just can't get excited about McDonalds anymore let alone their breakfast menu.

I've looked for these, and couldn't find them. I hope they're not a regional thing. I dig Cheetos.

Theater pop corn, with lots of artery clogging butter. I mean I spend a good few minutes drenching them. I might need to be even more clear, I'm talking TONS AND TONS!

Tortilla chips, and melted shredded cheese. Not Nachos, which is gooey cheese.

God damnit, now I'm hungry.
