For some strange reason Santa decided to get me the He-Man cartoon series on DVD. Too bad Santa got the wrong one!!!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_New...ures_of_He-Man

I didn't even know this existed. I told Santa thanks for getting me "the complete series of off-brand He-Man, probably aired only in Malaysia".

Well last year she got me a Radio controlled Deloreon from Back to the Future, so yes.

Here's hoping next year brings a raido controlled Kitt.

Dude...ouch, that's why I ask for gift cards. I learned that lesson the hard way...

As a child of the 80's, I loved the Ghostbusters movie, but every time my mom went to the video store...she'll end up with this... EVERY DAMN TIME.

The 15-disc Monty Python box set.
A book about the development of AI, with contributions from Kubrick, Spielberg, Brian Aldiss, co-edited by Jan Harlan.

Plenty of other things, including a crate of imported beer from my beloved, but these were the jewels of the filmic presents.

Santa was good to me this year, thanks for asking! This year, I got:

A pewter Wizard of Oz figurine - it's of Dorothy and the Scarecrow finding the Tin Man, and Dorothy is raising the oilcan to his mouth so he can talk. It's painted over and then most of the paint is rubbed off so it has a very authentic antiqued look to it, and it weighs a TON. It's really beautiful!

A Stella McCartney body cream and perfume gift set.

Law & Order SVU season 2 DVD.

My sister's famous pumpkin bread and Italian cookies.

A Hickory Farm's gift set.

Spending money from my Mom, which went into my savings.

More money from my company, and money from each of my bosses. The money from my company paid for all of my tuition and my textbooks. The money from my bosses also went into my savings, except for a small bit of it which I used to buy a few things I needed (snow boots, a new hat, scarf and gloves, and a couple pairs of new jammies).

A Barnes and Noble gift card, loose tea and a tea ball.

A cozy throw blanket.

A Starbuck's gift card.

El Cap - Sadly I remember the He-Man series in question I even wanna say I had the He-Man action figure from it.

I got:

40' Flat Screen
Gift Card to Target that went towards my Blu Ray player
Fingerless Gloves
Some other clothes
Besides some Blu-Rays I picked up for myself the best gift I got was a pair of Astro A40 surround sound headphones and mixamp. I'm primarily going to use them for my 360, but they're also PC and PS3 compatible for when I watch movies. I live in a tiny apartment and can't afford a good sound system so they're going to be the greatest thing in the world. When I get them, seeing as though they've been lost in the mythical land of "In Transit" since 12/22.

Tickets for Coldplay, Metallica and Franz Ferdinand. A knock off cologne, a Pearl Jam t-shirt.

I made out like a bandit this year.

From the parents, I got a PS3 (which they graciously gave me a few weeks early) with Modern Warfare 2, Arkham Asylum, and MGS4, a personalized set of baking pans/transport pans, and a new UK sweatshirt.

From the in-laws, I got an iPod docking station/radio for work, and 3-4 novelty ties (wearing my Homer tie at work right now).

From the wife, I got an iPod touch, Supernatural season 4, Eastbound and Down, the Iron Giant SE, a cooking apron autographed with the hand and footprints of my twins, a kitchen scale, a professional set of measuring cups, the Good Eats book, and some new oven mitts (think she wants me to cook some this year?).

We went light on the girls this year when we saw the huge pile of stuff the grandparents were getting them. They mostly got books, educational odds-and-ends, and clothes, with 1-2 toys thrown in.

I've just spent a good five minutes laughing at that 'The Ghost Busters' cover, what the hell is that? I didn't know Asylum was around back then.

Anyway, I got the six series boxset of The Sopranos, Fifa 10 and Assassins Creed 2 from the folks. My lady got me all five of the Scott Pilgrim books, a rather nice Tag Huer watch, District 9, Inglourious Basterds, Let the Right One In and many other DVDs.

My little bro got me what looks like a sixth hand DVD of Torque as a joke present
post #28 of 45

Pretty good, overall. I'm quite pleased with the swag.

The B&N gift card from my post above has officially been put to good use! This afternoon I converted it from a mere piece of plastic into a copy of All About Eve on DVD (hey, it matches my avatar!), and a journal-style notebook for when my paralegal class starts next month.
Damn, you guys have generous families. I got a cookbook and some organic coffee. I bought myself "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: A Very Sunny Christmas." My Chewer X-Mas Exchange partner didn't come through, but this is the first time in years so it was due.

It was some crappy 70's tv show..then it was made into a cartoon after the 1984 film GHOSTBUSTERS...which is why they named the 1985 cartoon "The Real Ghostbusters"..

So, is 'Bob Burns' the gorilla?

And Larry Storch's hat was later used by Jack Napier.
The Firefly series boxset. That's all that matters to me at the moment. I've never seen Firefly, but I've watched some episodes and I'm in love. Why isn't Nathan Fillion a massive fucking star?

Got a bunch of gift cards and cold hard cash, too.

Got an amazon link?

I got a 3 Wolf Moon T-Shirt from the wife. My power will be increased 100 fold! I hope she knows what she's getting into. The shirt did come with an extensive warning label. Avatar didn't cure my terrible vision or baldness, so I'm giving this awesome apparel a shot.

I love how Christmas for me has turned from a cavalcade of wants to a box full of needs, and I am sure thankful to my parents for that.

I got a couple new coats and some new shoes. New shirts and a couple new pairs of pants. I love my new scarves and gloves. I got basically everything to keep me warm that went to pot over the last year. My one splurge into want territory was Lost Season 5 on DVD.

Hey, you're in Wyoming - you have to do what you have to do to keep warm, and that's no joke. This year I got a decent amount of cash, which I banked most of, and then used a small amount to buy snow boots, and a new hat, scarf and gloves. Sometimes, ya just gotta be practical!

For a long time I rallied against being practical and grown up. Then one day I realised I was married, had finally learnt to drive, had a career rather than a job and a nice house.

Fortuanalty I have an understanding wife and a study full of geeky stuff.

Just don't wear it when you're doing your cryptozoological work. I don't want to read about you getting dry-humped by a lust-crazed Mothman or something on your blog.
