Next week! Flew under the radar. I haven't seen BLACK SAMSON, HOT POTATO, or THREE THE HARD WAY, so someone who has - pipe up!

BLACK BELT JONES, on the other hand, is a childhood favorite. Haven't watched it in years. Great soundtrack, and killer climatic dumptruck filled with bubbles fight.

I remember being a kid, and seeing a trailer for "Three the Hard Way". I so wanted to see that movie, but growing up in south Georgia, for some reason our single-plex never got it. I'd love to see Black Belt Jones again. It's been years (decades?) since I saw it on VHS.

I've seen the second one, but only by accident. This is good news!

HOT POTATO - an Al Adamson picture that isn't Carnival Magic.
Black Sampson - Pretty unmemorable, excepting his cane.
Three the Hard Way - IIRC, a pretty badass little piece of business.

Awesome, I believe I was able to rent Blackbelt Jones 2: The Tattoo Connection from blockbuster online a few years ago, but they did not have part 1.

Well, shit! I just saw Black Belt Jones not that long ago, thanks to my good friend Boomer's crappy VHS copy during his personal 70's Blaxploitation Butt-Numb-A-Thon party. Also caught Blackenstein, Shaft in Africa, and wrapped it up with some Truck Turner. Good times!

Haven't seen any of the others, but now I want to! I'll have to check with Boomer and see if he wants an upgrade. Still, more Jim Kelly is always a good thing.

Yessss, great news! 3 The Hard Way is the real deal Holyfield. Now I can do my old Black History Month triple feature of Shaft, Superfly & 3THW on DVD! (respectful). This made my day!

Somehow I've never seen Black Belt Jones, looking forward to remedying that.

Black Belt Jones is some fun nonsense, but for the ultimate Jim Kelly fix it'll always be ETD for me. The coolest he ever looked on film, the best lines, the fro at its most immaculate.

Black Samson is worth it just for Big William Smith in OTT baddie mode.

And if this kind of thing is your bag, I would also recommend the Chinese Hercules/Black Dragon double bill DVD, featuring the considerable talents of Bolo Yeung and master Ron Van Clief (too bad nobody ever thought of doing a Black Samson vs. Chinese Hercules crossover movie, massive potential there)

Black Belt Jones makes the best noises when he punches baddies. Oooouuuuueeeee!

Classic movie and remember the classic song "It's jingling baby" by LL Cool J? The Whole song is ripped from the Black Belt Jones soundtrack.
