Thought there had been a thread... here's some previous articles.

Russ' Interview

E3 2008 Impressions

Latest trailer

Anyway, demo's out on Xbox 360 right now, PS3 tomorrow. Downloading now! Not sure what section of the game they're showing off but can't wait to play it again.

I've been wanting to give this a test drive. The vertical fighting looks fun.

Yeah, I'll download the PS3 version of the demo. No intention at all of picking it up though. If I end up ever getting it, it'd probably be when it's down to $20-$30 special this summer. From the previews I've seen it seems like the right type of game for that time of year

It's a really fun demo but the shooter bits are the worst part. Demo's a bit glitchy in that aspect- had enemies facing the wrong way and such. Flying around fighting flying saucers is so much better.

But Jesus Christ, after Assassin's Creed 2, Uncharted 2, Prince of Persia, Army of Two: The 40th Day and now this, I'm getting really sick of Nolan North as the main protagonist.

Yeah, didn't know he was in this. I don't remember hearing his voice anywhere before Uncharted and now it seems like it's everywhere.

Neat idea, but a little late to the crowd?
Well, I loved the hell outta Crimson Skies (shame they never made a sequel), so I'll probably give this a go.

Demo was good (once you get used to the jet pack controls and special movements, flying is a shit load of fun; I actually managed to make two saucers crach into another), but the lack of an auto aiming hurts it a lot.

I wasn't particularly interested before, but after playing the demo I'm actively avoiding this game.

Dark Bored.

It's that bad? I thought it looked really generic and horrible up until that last video, although even that wasn't too astounding.
Dark shitty controls.
And it's not so much bad as just not very good. It's very middle of the road in pretty much every way. Except for the controls. They're bad.
I absolutely hate the left thumbstick being used to control the jetpack and the "maneuvers" are a pain in the ass and it's disorienting and it's like Rocketeer Uncharted arrrrgghhh.
It took me like five minutes to figure out what the hell it wanted me to do for that dumb "maneuver". Seriously something that should have been left to a single button, because all it is is a quick 180ยบ. Ridiculous that they make you press the right stick, then push both sticks down immediately afterward just to turn around quickly.

And the QTEs for hijacking one of those flying saucers are utter chores.

Dark Bargain Bin it is...hell, I have high tolerance for a mediocre but fun game (Bionic Commando), but Bayonetta became this month's purchase.
We'll never see a truly great Rocketeer game, wont we?
Only gave this game about 5 minutes before turning it off. I was okay with the flight control, but after failing to take down a saucer after 4 or 5 tries I gave up. I really couldn't tell when i was close to dying.

Well that sucks. I'll still give the demo a go, but I was hoping for something great from these guys.
Yeah, when flying it was really weird, it was definitely Crimson Skies-esque but then you remember you're controlling a person and you're like, "Where is this infinite supply of ammo coming from and why am I not dead yet."

Then once you land you're like, "Why do I burn through my ammo so fast and these guys have such tiny heads?" And then you get killed because you took cover and wasted your ammo trying to shoot from behind cover and hitting the far side of the crate you're behind instead.

Or maybe you manage to smash the controls and get back out and are trying to take off again but when the camera switches from standard for on the ground to inverted when flying you accidentally graze off the ground and die.

I'm sure the controls would get a bit better from playing but I just couldn't really make myself finish the demo.

This is the new "We'll never see a good Batman game..." right?
The demo only lasted about 10 minutes.
