iTunes Problems

So I just got a brand new HP laptop with Windows 7 and I was having a grand time with it until I discovered that it did not come with iTunes. No problem right? I just download it to the system, right?

Well, I tried making some purchases through the iTunes store, and as soon as they were finishing up, a message saying "iTunes has encountered a problem" comes up and iTunes closes on me. The 2 songs I downloaded (1 I foolishly bought twice) don't show up in the "check for downloads" section, and they're not in my library. Can anybody help?

I downloaded the 64 bit version of iTunes since the 32 bit one gave me a message that it wouldn't work properly on Windows 7.

I've got Defender Pro 2010 operating on it, but I didn't have these problems on my other laptop.

Do you have a 64 bit processor? Otherwise download the 32 bit.

I'm running iTunes on 7 with no problems though.

Check your iTunes purchase history, they also forward something to the e-mail its registered with. If nothing is listed there, make sure you have your credit card bill to show Apple that your purchased the songs.

I'd love for you to take your PC to a mac store and ask for support. Oh please tape it. I'm sure Bill Gates will send you a check for the errr wait I'm gonna go do this.

Fixed it a little while ago. Last night I uninstalled and reinstalled Defender Pro. When I first installed it, I thought I had installed the 64bit version, but I went with the 32bit one, and that's what was causing the problem.

I'm back to working order and downloading music from iTunes with no problems. Thanks for the help, Sairus.

Just co-opting and old thread. (the search function is still screwed)

Is there a way to turn the stuff I am listening to into a playlist? Like recording a Macro. I start listening to Arcade Fire later on Pixies yadda yadda and after 10 minutes all the stuff I listened is a playlist I can pick up later.

As far as I know, the only way to create a playlist is just to go to file, create new playlist, and it creates a playlist you can give a name to in the playlist section on the left hand side. Whenever you're listening to something, and you like it, just drag it to the playlist you created, and it's there to listen to.

Yeah, that's how I've seen it work. Make the new playlist name, then drag and drop whatever you want on there. You can also build a "query" to pull certain songs to a playlist--like selecting only songs from 1984-1989 from bands with the word "White" in their name. It's a little hit-or-miss sometimes, but it's not bad.

Intelligent list I think.
