Shatner vs. Simmons

Richard Simmons got a little too close for comfort to William Shatner during the fourth hour of 'The Today Show, this morning, prompting the 'Boston Legal' star to say something that the 'Sweatin' to the Oldies' guru didn't particularly appreciate.

"It's time to finally to come out and discuss their relationship," Kathie Lee Gifford says, while Simmons hugs a squirming Shatner.

"Oh my God the cameras are on!" Simmons mock cries and grabs the sports page of the newspaper.

"Is that the way you think straight guys are?" Shatner quipped, prompting Simmons to walk of the set.
Video in link. Shatner's expression in the video still is priceless.

Classic Simmons.

Hahahahahaha. Maybe this will come up in the Shatner/Takei sit-down.

Is it a hate crime if I laugh at this?

Richard Simmons couldn't be reached for comment, as he was busy changing his outfit for the 7th goddamned time.

Simmons is creepy as hell! Chilling

The today show is 4 hours long? WTF?

Poor Richard Simmons. I can't believe the abuse and degradation he takes just because he's gay. After this, he deserves to just sit back and relax with a cool, refreshing glass of cum.

Hmmm.... seems like Simmons was just playing hurt. He's done it before on Letterman. Did he release a statement or some shit? Could be wrong considering he didn't come back.

I was going to say Simmonds has no sense of humour, then I took a look at what he was wearing.

There's a joke about being butt-hurt in here somewhere, but I'll be damned if I can find it.

Did anybody actually watch the clip?

It's almost obvious it's all a big joke and Simmons is just playing along.

Too bad they cut the clip before it showed Amanda Simpson stand up, yell "Richard Simmons is gay?!?" and then run out of the room.

Simmons now looks like a midget version of Christopher Walken after he's been attacked by a vampire.

That's sort of his schtick. People get Simmons on just to rile him up and make him storm off.

Doesn't make it any less funny.
It's impossible to be less funny because it isn't funny at all.

Is Simmons wearing pantyhose?

If Shatner is involved, its funny.

Shatner is truly transcendent

He now appears all over the place doing ridiculous things, and yet.

And yet

We all nod with a big grin on our faces and say "Hey! its WILLIAM SHATNER!"

Seconded on the Simmons creepy factor. I couldn't take my eyes off that bizarre Lego hairline of his. It's pretty bad when Shatner eclipses you in terms of hairpiece/hair extension realism. Regardless of gender or sexual preference, is there anyone here who wouldn't be incredibly uncomfortable if Simmons was sitting right next to you doing that schtick and trying to hug you?
